“The Chinese Parrot,” an
absorbing story of love and
intrigue that reaches from the
sunny shores of Hawaii to the
sun-baked sands of Death Val-
ley, California, has been book-
ed as the special attraction to
be shown at the Cole’s Thea-
tre Thursday and Friday Feb
ruary 16 and 17 for the be-
nefit of the P. T. A.
Marian Nixon, Edmund
Burns and Hobart Bos worth
head the long and well-known
list of players in the picture
which was directed by Paul
Leni, ace of foreign directors,
who was recently brought to
this country by Carl Laemmle,
President of Universal pictures
and is now under long term)
contract to that organization.
The picture is a screen ad-
aption of Earl Derr Bigger’s
story of the same name that
created a sensation when pub-
lished in the Saturday Evening
Post a few' months ago. In the
screen version all of the dra-
matic tenseness and mystery
of the story is retained while
the wider scope, possible in
the filming is added.
In addition to the players
already mentioned those in-
cluded in the cast are Floren-
ce Turner, K.' Sojin, Fred
Esmelton, Edgar Kennedy, Ge-
orge Kuwa, Sliinm Summervil-
le, Dan Mason, Anna May
Wong, Etta Lee and Jack
Trent.

The Parent-Teachers’ As-
sociation, through the courtesy
of Mr. Mart Cole, is present-
ing to the public Thursday
and Friday, February 16 and
17, “The Chinese Parrot” a
fascinating, weird, mystifying
colorful, romantic, awesome
photo-dramatization.
It has been the purpose of
the Parent-Teachers’ Associa-
tion throughout its entire ex-
istence to give the public in-
teresting and entertaining
programs. The members of
the organization feel that they
have in this great picture,
which is directed by Paul Leni,
a wizard of bizarre and myste-
rious effects, a fascinating pro
duction which will delight the
most critical audience.
In connection with the pic-
ture there will be an appropri-
ate program consisting of mu-
sic, singing, and dancing.
