WITHOUT A CENT of direct cost to its customers, this
bank furnishes check books, acts as treasurer, book-
keeper, collector and financial adviser, 0ur only way
to make money for the friends, who have invested
their money in the stock of this bank, is through
loans. Along with the idea of making money for our
stock holders, i& the idea of furnishing a safe and
convenient place for our depositors’ money.
BUT it costs like the dickens to have a lot of very small
accounts on our books, accounts on wTiich many checks
are drawn each month. Careful investigation shows
that the real cost of handling a cheek is about two cents
to the bank on w’hich it is drawrn.
It is fine to have a cancelled check as a receipt
for money paid, but every one should try to have
sufficient balance in the bank, so that the bank is not
put to a loss for the service it gives its customer.
Besides, a good bank balance means SAFETY.
