PALACIOS, TEXAS
Iloueroo, Texas, July 15:— Inter-
est in the.''cotton trade during the
past week ban been about evenly
divided between the erratic market
and the discussion of the action of
the Fukusliiiua company of Japan,
one of the biggest foreign exporting
companies of the world, locating its
American office in Houston. Mon
prominent in the cotton trade in-
cline to the belief that the location
in Houston of the Japanese firm is
indicative uf the increasing concen-
tration of u great j bulk of the cotton
business of the South in Houston.
The early production of cotton in
Texas, as is indicated by U19 promi-
nence of Texas in annually produc-
ing the world’s first halo, also is be-
lieved to be an attraction for world
cotton buyers. This brings the
buyer as well as the spinner nearer
the producer of South Texas cotton.
As a rule the cotton market has
been steady and inclined to a bull-
ish tendency on account of the con-
tinued rains. In many parts of the
cotton bolt the rainfall baa worked
some damage, but not enough to
work against the assurance of a
bumper crop.
Despite the summer Reason a
larger volume of produce passed
through the produce market during
the week than for the same period
in several weeks. All was cleaned
up, including the chicken division
which has been glutted recently.
Hens ruled about unchanged, but
small chickens were cheaper. There
was no change in eggs. Cold etor-
zgo-eggs arcwo-rtH 22-cte. Canta-
loupes couliuue in heavy supply,
particularly from Southwest Texas.
Receipts tomatoes were not
heavy—about in proportion to the
demand. The banana market was
steady and unchanged, while or-
anges developed a much better ten-
dency .
Houston seed dealers report a
heavy sale of seed, the recent rains
stimulating the demand. As a re-
sult of the heavy call stocks were
well cleaned up. June corn par-
ticulaily wa» iu aUuug demand be-
cause of the necessity of replanting.
From present indications dealers
state that the truck acreage in South
Texas this fall will he the largest in
the history x>* the section and an in-
crease of 25 to 30 per cent is expect-
ed over last season.
Houston bank clearings for the
week were $23,589,247.

Strange How They
..DO GET WELL
We have just purchased a new register for our bath house, in which are signed the
names of all the bathers. We have written letters to ail the names on the old register
and asked them to tell us just what they think of the Terrell Well Water. These people
have bathed in the water and they know what it is. Every letter we receive tells us of the
wonderful benefit obtained from taking the Terrell Hot Baths.
If you are afflicted with rheumatism, gout, eczema, Bright’s Disease, or diabetes,
this water will do the same for you.

Mr. Evans td get the prize, but if
there are offenders about Col-
legeport, we would as leave see
him as any man carrying the $75
watch for having taken care of the.
fellows who would do the damage
to satisfy a barbarous whim. We
are inclined to supplement the prize
with the offer of a bright new Inger-
soll watch to the Justice if he will
give the offenders the limit in every
case. •
Austin, Texas, June 10, 1911.
Dear Sir:
The Thirty-second Legislature
amended the game laws so as to
give Justices of the Peace final
jurisdiction in prosecutions for the
violation of the game laws. In no
other particular were the laws
changed. The amended law is cf
fective on and after June 10. 1911.
The Department is intensely anxi
ous to haye the lhw enforced and
will render you every assistance in
its power to enforce it. It must
rely ou you as officers to make it-
self effective. You are advised that
Mr. Frank P. Holland, Editor of
the Texas Farm and Ranch at Dal-
las, has posted as a prize a $75.00
gold watch lu the executive officer
wh,o secures the greatest number of
convictions for violations of the
game laws in the period of time
embraced between July 1, 1911, and
Tjuiv i, i5i4. ~ Hoping you wlii give-'
the Department your earnest co-
operation in the protection of our
rapidly vanishing birds and valu-
able wild animals, I am,
