LEBANON BAPTIST CHURCH
September 3, 4, 5, & 6, 1885

Met with the Lebanon Church, Collin County, Texas, Thursday
before the first Sunday in September, 1885.
Introductory sermon by Elder R. T. Hanks. Adjourn to 3:00PM.
Evening session; prayer by Bro. A. J. Holt. Letters from
churches read by S. A. Hayden & E. P. Marshall. Election of
officers for ensuing year: G. W. Good, Moderator; R. F.
Butler, Secy; S. H. Foree, Treas. Petitionary letter presen-
ted from Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, referred to commit-
tee of S. H. Foree, I. T. Bishop & R. T. Hanks. Moderator
appointed committee on Divine Service: Pastor & messingers of
Lebanon church & Brethren A. T. Pickett & E. P. Marshall.
Received correspondence J. W. Mitchell, Waxahachie Assoc;
E. A. Puthuff, Waco Assoc. William Pritchett visiting from
Centennial Assoc, Alabama, accepted a seat with us. R.F. But-
ler, A.J. Holt & R.T. Borum appointed a committee on Home
Missions. On motion of M.P. Matheny, order of business sus-
pended to take up miscellaneous business.
Dallas nominated as place of next meeting; Antioch petitioned
for next meeting; J. W. Mitchell spoke in favor of Antioch and
Association agree to meet with Antioch next annual meeting.
Report on Home Missions made special order of business 'tonight'.
Night Session: prayer by Bro. E. A. Puthuff; committee on Tem-
perance appt'ed: Brethren S. J. Anderson, J. B. Cole, 0. C.
Buster, M. P. Matheny. Report on Home Missions read and dis-
cussed by Brethren Hayden & Holt. The following pledges were
made; [Note: this is the first of five solicitations for
funds. Home church or town is not given for all Messingers.]3
