A brand new year has just begun,
With firm resolves by everyone.
If you remember with dismay
The fact that you did not obey
That mighty list on which appear
The things you vowed to do last year,
Including chores that one by one
You swore that somehow you’d get done
But didn't find the time at all
To clean that closet in the hall,
And didn't manage to resist
All those temptations on your list;
Then just resolve to work and pray,
And worship God each Sabbath day.
These resolutions are the best,
For they take care of all the rest.
— Gloria Nowak
