Sue Rauschuber
Receives Award
Preferred Properties Realtors
has recently awarded the outstanding
efforts of associate Sue Rauschuber.
She has received and proudly dis-
plays on her office wall a bronze
plaque designating $1 million plus in
production during a 30-day period of
rime.
Between July 13 and Aug. 12
this year, Rauschuber produced
$1,240,967 in real estate sales. She
attributes her success in achieving
such production to a number of areas
of support systems.
-—Knowledgeable cooperating
brokers,
—Efficient secretary,
—Professional, experienced co-
agents,
—Enterprising husband,
—Helpful children,
—Understanding parents,
—Loyal friends and customers,
—And the good Lord.
Withallofthat working for her,
said the agent, she can't go too far
wrong in the business world.
Rauschuber is a former teacher.
She began her real estate career in
January 1986 and has been a multi-
million dollar seller each year.
Ts easy for me to sell Burle-
son—I'm so sold on it myself," she
said. The Rauschuber family moved
here 11 years ago for a number of
reasons—reasons which help the
sales associate continue to "sell
Burleson" to others.
Rauschuber said that the com-
munity offers many special features,
including easy access to a major air-
port, to superior medical facilities,
and top the fine arts. "The outstand-
ing school system with a dedicated
personnel, area businesses, efficient
police department, and the city gov-
ernment all reflect pride in doe's
community," she said.

Church's big winner in two contests
According to Dale Brock, man-
ager of the Burleson Church's
Chicken restaurant, it's about the
most exciting thing he can remember
happening to him—ever.
"No one expected that a rela-
tively new store like ours could earn
these honors; it usually takes several
years to be ready to qualify for the
Master Merchant award. We did it
this year, scoring 572.2 points out of
a possible 585," said Brock, beaming
with pride. The Master Merchant
designation was only one of two very
distinguished honors recently re-
ceived by the local chicken restau-
raant. Brock said last week that his
team at the store, his employees, are
what really made the difference.
They’re not just there to "do their
scheduled hours," according tp the
manager. The Church's employees
care about the quality of their work—
"all our people really seem to love
their jobs."
They are intangible elements—
the caring about quality and the pride
taken in excellence, but such things
do become evident in the final prod-
uct and the service given to their cus-
tomers. The caring and the pride is
part of what wins accolades and
awards in the highly competitive
restaurant business. In this case, the
restaurant is not only being awarded
in plaques to hang on the wall, but in
cash as well.
Brock said the gruelling exami-
nation by the district manager of
Church's involved inspections of:
exterior appearance, interior appear-
ance, storage area, team's appear-
ance, service, entrees, side items,
walk-in cooler, equipment, and ad-
ministrative paperwork.
The restaurant has been prepar-
ing for the inspection for more than a
year.
But in addition to the Master
Merchant inspection and point
awards, the Burleson store also won
another distinction. It has been
judged by an independent Mystery
Shopper firm as the very best
Church's Chicken restaurant in this
part of Texas, according to Brock.
In the 10 weeks of the Mystery
Shopper contest, five visits were
made to each Church's in the district
(ranging from Wichita Falls to
Weatherford and south to Waco.)
Brock said, "Our cumulative
score was 504 of a possible 515. We
earned more points than any of the
others in the contest (100 stores).
Points were awarded for speed of
service, quality of food, quality of
service, appearance of the store,
food, and personnel," said Brock.
Cash awards will be presented
Sept 26 in Irving for most points at
the end of the 10-week contest—
$1,000; and$10(Jfor each of the five
area contests (burleson Church's
Chicken was winner of all those cash
awards.)
"We call our employees a team,
and there's a reason for that," said
Brock. "Special awards like these
can't be earned by a manager or a
single employee or even two or three.
It takes the whole group working
together, and thinking about quality
all of the time. It's been very exciting
for us, but mostly, I'm just very proud
of all the team members who have
worked so hard to make it possible."
Brock emphasized that the local
restaurant is still looking for another
company to join in a merenant s par-
ticipation program. Anyone inter-
ested in sharing discounts with their
customers should call manager Dale
Brock at (817)295-2405.
The team member of the month
was Kenneth Brown, who has been
employed with Church's Chicken for
four months. He's a cook and cutter/
processor, and he was a key team
member in helping win the Mystery
Shopper Contest, according to his
manager. "He is very dependable and
hard working. Kenneth works full
time as a welder for Kinard on
Crowley Road. He works evenings
and weekends for us at Church's."
