Miss Linda TownJey became the bride of Bryan Sifford
with wedding vows exchanged at 1 p.m. Nov. 16 in the home
of the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Sifford, 131
Cliffside Drive South.
Miss Townley is the niece of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Max-
field, 124 N.E. Alsbury.
The bride’s grandfather, Elder V.R. Henderson of
Childress, officiated at the single-ring ceremony.
The bride, given in mamage by her uncle, wore a floor-
length gown of chiffon over silk illusion designed with a
sweetheart neckline, full sleeves embroidered with lace
motifs ending in lace cuffs. The full, gathered skirt ter-
minated in a flowing chapel sweep.
Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was edged deep with Chan-
tilly lace and held by a Juliet Cap of lace and seed pearls.
She carried a cascade of white carnations and baby’s
breath.
Stephanie Henderson, bride’s cousin, of Childress, was
maid of honor.
She wore a blue floor-length gown topped with a lacejacket
and carried a bouquet of white, blue and pink carnations.
Doyle Sifford Jr. served his brother as best man. Guests
were seated by Danny Sifford, bridegroom’s brother.
The nuptial scene was formed with brass arched
candelabra and arrangements of gladiolas, pink and blue
carnations and daisies.
For her niece’s wedding, Mrs. Maxfield chose a pleated
lavender waltz-length gown. The mother of the bridegroom,
Mrs. Sifford, chose a waltz-length two-piece Royal Blue
dress. Their corsages were fashioned from white carnations.
A reception was held in the home following the ceremony.
The bride’s table was appointed with a white lace cloth
centered with a floral arrangement of blue carnations and
baby’s breath. A three-tiered all-white cake decorated with
blue and pink rose sugar cream rosebuds was topped with
doves and served with punch. Chocolate cake and coffee was
served from the groom’s table.
Members of the houseparty were Jeanie Nelson, Debbie
Fowler, Chris Sifford, Leslie Guinty and Teresa Henderson of
Childress.
After a wedding trip, the couple is at home at 611 N. W. Ren-
fro.
The bride graduated from Burleson High School in 1980 and
is employed at Williams and Dickey The bridegroom, a 1979
graduate of Burleson High School, is self-employed as a
framing contractor in Burleson.
Among the special guests were the bride's grandparents,
Rev. and Mrs. V.R. Henderson of Childress; the
bridegroom’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nelson of
Fort Worth, Mrs. Lillie Sifford, also of Fort Worth.

Berta, Hill Wed At Home
Wedding vows of Miss Leigh Ann Hill and Terry Duane
Berta were exchanged in a double-ring service performed at
7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 in the home of the bride’s parents Mr and
Mrs. Charles R. Hill.
Berta is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Berta of Fort
Worth.
Dr. Klaude Kendrick officiated for the ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-
length gown of white peau de soie over bridal taffeta fashion-
ed with a jewel neckline and long, sheer sleeves ending in
lace cuffs. The princess lines of the gown flowed into a
chapel-sweep from a full skirt re-embroidered with chantilly
lace motifs sprinkled with seed pearls.
Her hip-length veil of silk illusion was bordered deep with
chantilly lace and was worn as a mantilla.
She carried a nosegay of white carnations, yellow
Sweetheart roses interspersed with baby’s breath and
showered with floor-length lace streamers.
Diana Hill was maid of honor wearing a floor-length gown
of peach crepe with pleated top. She carried a single, long-
stemmed yellow rose.
Lonnie Eager attended the bridegroom as best man.
Guests were seated by Charles Hill Jr., John Hill and Zoltan
McNeel.
Other attendants were Carl and Doe Kendrick, bride’s
grandparents; Wallace Baker of Cleburne, bride’s grand-
father.
Vows were repeated in front of the fireplace decorated with
English Ivy and greenery with silver candleholders on each
end of the mantle.
After the ceremony, a reception was held in the home with
Sharon Howland at the punch and coffee service; Jo Ann
Gregg and Marianna McNeel serving cake. Cindy Cobb was
guest registrar.
Among the guests were the bridegroom's brother and
sister-in-law, Tony and Becky Berta of Fort Worth.
The couple will make their home at 5217 Westcrest in Fort
Worth
The bride is a graduate of Burleson High School. The
bridegroom graduated from Southwest High School in Fort
Worth. They are both employed by Mastercraft Printing Co,
