Underwood— Jimenez say-
vows in June 4 ceremony
June 4, 1988 was the wedding
date of Loretta Underwood of
Burleson and Lt.j.g. Carlos
Eduardo Jimenez, USN of Moun-
tain View, Calif.
The couple wed in St. Stephen
Presbyterian Church in Fort
Worth with Dr. R.W. Jablonowski
Jr. officiating the 2 p.m. double-
ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Underwood of
120 Redhaw Ct., Burleson. The
bridegroom’s parents are Mr.
and Mrs. A. Ernesto Jimenez of
Fort Worth.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was lovely in a
white bridal satin gown with a
cathedral-length train accented
with a bow in back with cascad-
ing ruffles. The gown featured an
organza yoke inset with lace at
the collar and the sleeves were
puffed at the shoulder. The
bodice and sleeves were enhan-
ced with lace and beaded pearls.

exchange vows Aug. 19
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bell of Burleson announce the engagement
and approaching marriage of their daughter, Melody Jan to Larry L.
Roberts Jr. of Toca, La. He is the son of Larry L Roberts Sr. and Mrs.
Rita Bouterie.
The wedding vows will be solemnized at 7 p.m., Aug. 19, in St.
Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burleson.
The bride-elect is employed with Peggy Ann’s Advertising
Specialties in Fort Worth. She and her fiance operate Wayne Bell
Quarter Horses in Burleson. They do extensive showing in American
Quarter Horse Shows.
The hem was trimmed in lace
and beaded pearls. A veil cas-
caded from her headpiece, a
beaded cap adorned with a
flower.
The bride carried a cascade
bouquet of jappette orchids,
picardy roses, and carnations
embellished with baby’s breath.
Matron or honor was Mrs.
Janie Smith, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Ms. Kathy Ray
(bride’s sister) and Ms. Ginger
Sharp (bride’s sister).
The attendants wore peach
satin tea-length dresses with lace
overlays and %-length sleeves.
The dresses featured bows in
back. The attendants carried
small cascades of feathered
sonya carnations and white
daisies.
Flower girl was the bride’s
niece. Miss Sarah Smith.
Serving as best man was Lt.j.g.
Nick L. Peterson, USN. Ushers
were Lt.j.g. Gerald L Hodge,
USN; Lt.j.g. Timothy M. Kersey,
USN: J. Ernesto Jimenez; Diego
Jimenez; Lt.j.g. James S. Don-
nelly, USN; 2nd Lt. Christopher
Dolson, USMC; and Lt.j.g. Daniel
Smith, USN.
Organist Mark Scott and
vocalist Mrs. Carol Kretchmar
provided the wedding music.
The mothers of the bride and
bridegroom wore corsages of
mini carnations and picardy
roses.
A reception was held in Parish
Hall at the church. Assisting dur-
ing the reception were Miss Amy
Sharp, Cristina Banez, Sonia
Jimenez, Betty Yandell, and
Donna Sharp.
The bride is a 1982 graduate of
Crowley High School and a 1987
graduate of the University of
Texas at Arlington. The bridegroom
graduated from Crowley High
School in 1982 and from the Un-
ited States Naval Academy in
1986.
The couple is temporarily liv-
ing in San Francisco, Calif, with
a permanent duty station in Bar-
bers’ Point, Hawaii.

upcoming wedding
Band begins rehearsals
Students new to the BISD School District who are interested in
becoming a member of the Burleson High School Band should call
the band office at 295-5626 as soon as possible because the band will
begin rehearsals on Monday, Aug. 1.
“First year band members will practice from 7 a.m. to noon and
returning members will rehearse from 10 a.m. to noon,’’ noted Direc-
tor Sam Woodward.
The Hawaii-bound BHS Band is preparing for the fall marching
season. The group is also looking forward to next June when they go
to Hawaii to participate in the "King Kamehameha Day
Parade.”___"_ J
Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie J. Thompson of 147 S.E. Gardens, Burleson,
announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their
daughter, Monica Gail Thompson to James Gary Blanscet, son of Mr.
and Mrs. J.R. Blanscet of Channelview, Texas.
First United Methodist Church of Burleson will be the setting for
the wedding service planned for 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 20.
