.. .with a big one!
Burleson Resident
Catches Large Sailfish
July was an eventful
month for Greg Shetter of
Burleson.
On a fishing jaunt to Port
Aransas July 27 with Capt.
Leasel Green, also of Burle-
son, Shetter landed an 8-foot
4-inch Sailfish, weighing 54
pounds.
Shetter learned later that
according to Atlantic World
Record and the 1971 World
Almanac and Book of Facts
his sailfish came within an
inch of tying the world
record.
And then the next day,
July 28, Shetter was called
home unexpectedly where
his wife, Kathy presented
him with a son, whom they
have named Marcus Dean.
The new arrival weighed six
pounds eight ounces and was
20 inches long at birth.
Grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Shetter of Burleson
Ruby Baker, also of Burle-
Great grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Green of
Burleson. Mr. and Mrs. Guy
Kersh of Huntington, 111.

Archery Season Nearing
AUSTIN- Deer hunters
who hunt with long bows and
arrows in 94 Texas counties
will not need permits to take
anterless deer during the
special October archery sea-
son, according to the Texas
Parks and Wildlife Depart
ment.
These counties are located
in areas where antlerless
deer permits were issued
during the 1979-80 regular
hunting season. The harvest
by archers comprises only
about one percent of the
total deer harvest in the
state and has an insignifican
impact on deer populations.
During the Oct. 4-Nov. 2
archery season, archers may
take three deer, either sex,
but no more than two bucks
in the following counties:
Andesron, Aransas, Atasco-
sa, Bandera, Bell, Bee, Bex
ar, Bosque, Brazoria, Brew-
ster, Brooks, Brown, Cal
houn, Callahan, Cameron,
