The Dublin Citizen
■MmS
(Editor's Note: The following
poem was sent to us by Kristy and
January Scon as a "good luck’
message to their bull riding friend
Miles McNeal.)
Bull Rider
by Kristy Scott
A bull as fierce as a fire
Cant even be stopped by a briar.
The rider braver than a lot
Even though he sleeps on a cot.
It's madness so bloody red
It's eyes arc full of dread.
The hump of its beige body so
bony,
It wont take a phony.
The blackness of his hat, the color
of his flesh;
He knows this bull is fresh.
Hearing only the ringing of the bell
Praying not to be airmail.
Dark boots, dark chaps, blue shirt,
black spurs
Make this bull give wild curves.
His free hand in the air
This bull doesn't give him a
scare.
This cowboy wants a slice,
Of the bull Vanilla Ice.
With the quickness of a cat,
Only Miles can ride like that.
Good Luck Miles McNeal
from Kristy and January

Life is made sweet because of
friends we have made,
And the things which in common
we share.
We want to live on, not because
of ourselves,
But because of the people who
care. 1
It's in giving and doing for
somebody else -- on that all life’s
splendor depends,
And the joys of this life, when
you've summed it all up,
Are found in the making of
friends.
