Have you heard about the Lions An-
nual Carnival Saturday, August 26,
1050? Make it a date! Every Lion
Club member will participate im mak-
ing it a gay affair. All proceeds will
go for a good cause such as sight
conservation, necessary material for
the welfare of the school children,
etc.
The members are happy to have a
couple of stray Lions re instated and
we say "welcome hack into the Den”
Lion Virgil Miller and Lion Marcel!

The following were guests: Mr.
Hogan of Cuero, Lioh Newton Mitch-
ell of Smithson's Valley, Mr. Eddy
Noble aud Mr, Idas Hattenbach of
Edna.
A directors meeting was held Wed-
nesday evening. The carnival was dis-
cussed. Lion President Simons urges
all members to lake part in the car-
nival. A roster will be made aud i

Joseph Roy Byars, 75, In Yoakum
with burial at Hebrdn Cemetery. He
was a brother of the late Mr. W.
H. Byars of Edna. Mrs. Henry By-
ang Mrs. A. L. Moody and Mrs.
Claude Quarles attended the fu-
neral.
