Coming out of the closet
By REV. DANE GRESSETT
" Everyoae therefore who shall confess Me before men. I will also
confess him before My Father who is in heaven. Bui whoever shall
deay Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is
in heaven." (Mallhew 10:32-33)
Have you ever noticed lire "before men" nature of these words of
Jesus? True followers of Christ never remain "secret believers" or
"closet Cliristians." This upturns lire common opiukrn that someone can
be a true Christian and never speak of the Lord or congregate with
other believers.
Some use tlie excuse, "My religion is a very private thing and I'd
rather not talk about it." They arc hiding behind a very thin edge. This
way of flunking not only contradicts the words of Jesus but also natural
reasoning- Anyone with a good relationship with their human father
loves to talk to hint and about him. They are never offended if
someone should ask about their father. The same is due with God.
God wants you to become very personally acquainted with Him. This
is more than a "sinner's prayer," water baptism, or confirmation. God
wants you to really hear from Him and order your life according to the
Scriptures. He wants to Till you with His Spirit and do wonders in your
life and iit the life of your family. He is a good God and His will is
good a«"i He is heartbroken tint you are not trusting Him more fully.
Don't nan from Him or be afraid. It's lime to come out of the closet!
Find a local cliureh where the Bible is believed and preached, the Holy
Spirit is honored and felt, and people are excited about loving Jesus
and one another.

“People who are planning to

plan to shop on the 15th so the
seniors can have a great fund-raiser
for Graduation Celebration," Mrs.
Crouch said.
“If you regularly buy Dr Pepper

suggested.
The students will work in shifts

regular soda shop staff members.
Graduation Celebration monies

“biggest fund-raiser of the year.**
The seniors want this to be a
mission very possible.
