The DARE (Drug Abuse Resi-
stance Education) program is in its
third year in the Burleson Inde-
pendent School District and is
being used in practically every
grade. The 17-week course cur-
riculum is focused on the sixth
grade. A question box is a way that
the sixth graders can ask questions
of the DARE officer while remain-
ing anonymous at the same time.
The Burleson Star thought you
might want to see what kinds of
questions your children are asking,
and how they are being answered.
QUESTION: Why does every-
body do drugs?
ANSWER: First of all, not every-
one does drugs. But the ones who
do I guess feel that their problems
are so bad they can't bear to
handle them. We all have prob-
lems. We must learn to handle
them.
