The following news items were selected from Burleson Pafice Depart-
ment case files. All records regarding certain types of cases are included,
and exceptions will not be made regarding publication of news items. Lead-
ins reflect case in vestigation headings and don't necessarily reflect charges
filed. DWI charges require intoxilyzer readings of at least .10 percent or
refusal to submit to an intoxilyzer test.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 20
7:37 p.m. CUSTODY—CRIMINAL MIS CHEF (impairment or interruption
of public communications). A 15-year-old Burleson boy and a 14-year-old
Burleson boy were arrested at the police department for criminal mischief
(impairment or interruption of public communications).
MONDAY NOVEMBER 8
7:35 a.m. CUSTODY—POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA (under two
ounces). A 15-year-old Burlson High School freshman was arrested at the
high schol for possession of marijuana (less than two ounces).
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 13
12:15 a.m. BOOKING—NORTH RICHLAND HILLS WARRANT FOR
THEFT ($750-$20,000); DALLAS POLICE WARRANT FOR NO INSUR-
ANCE; FAILURE TO IDENTIFY A FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE. A 26-
year-old Fort Worth man was arrested in the 600 block of 1-35 for a North
Richland Hills warrant for theft ($750-$20,000), a Dallas Police Department
warrant for no insurance, and for failing to identify himself as a fugitive from
justice.
2:14 a.m. BOOKING—DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED. Larry Wayne
Nelson, 31, of Fort Worth was arrested in the 800 block of Ridgeview for
driving while intoxicated. Nelson was driving a black 1982 Buick Riviera
when he was arrested.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 15
11:33 p.m. BOOKING—DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED (second).
Harley Bob Coggin, 34, of Cleburne was arrested in the 400 block of S.W.
Wilshire for driving while intoxicated. Coggin was driving a blue and white
1978 Ford F-150 pickup when he was arrested.
1:06 p.m. BOOKING—PUBLIC INTOXICATION. A 34-year-old Joshua
man was arrested in the 2800 block of S.W. Wilshire for public intoxication.
The man was arrested when officers responded to a report of a disturbance.
2:36 p.m. CUSTODY—RUNAWAY; DETENTION WARRANT FOR
VIOLATION OFPROBATION. A 16-year-old Burleson High School fresh-
man was taken into custody in the 4700 block of Old Blue Circle for being a
runaway and on a detention warrant for violation of probation.
4:08 p.m. CUSTODY—POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY ($200-
$750). A 15-year-old Burleson High School sophomore girl was taken into
custody at the school for possession of stolen property.
4:52 p.m. CUSTODY—DISORDERLY CONDUCT; POSSESSION OF
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. A 13-year-old Burleson boy was taken into
custody in the 400 block of N.W. Jayellen for disorderly conduct and
possession of drug paraphernalia.
5:19 p.m. BOOKING—POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA;
CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUENCY OF A MINOR. A 33-year-old
Burleson man was arrested in the 400 block of Jayellen for possesion of drug
paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 16
2:35 a.m. BOOKING—JCSO DWI WARRANT. Tammy Renee Vaughan,
30, of Godley was arrested in the 300 block of S.W. Thomas for a Johnson
County driving while intoxicated warrant. Vaughan was arrested when
officers responded to a report of an intoxicated person refusing to leave an
apartment.

4:57 p.m. CUSTODY—THEFT (S20-S200). A 14-year-old Burleson Middle
School girl was taken into custody at Wal Mart for theft ($20-$200).
9:03 p.m. BOOKING—DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED. Lisa Kaye
Hardee, 36, of Forest Hill was arrested in the 300 block of N.E. Wilshire for
driving while intoxicated. Hardee was driving a blue 1985 Chrysler LeBaron
when she was arrested.

Worth man was arrested in the 300 block of S.W. Thomas for failure to

year-old Joshua man was arrested in the 1600 block of S.W. Wilshire for a
Dallas warrant for a bad check.
11:38 p.m. BOOKING—DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED. James Mil-
ton Johnson, 48, of Burleson was arrested in the 800 block of Spring Meadow
for driving while intoxicated. Johnson was driving a white 197 Chrysler when
he was arrested. . '
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 23
11:45 p.m. BOOKING—DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED. Christine
Rudy Russell, 27, of Alvarado was arrested in the 700 block ofN.E. Burleson
Blvd. for driving while intoxicated. Russell was driving a black 1986 Ford
Mustang when she was arrested.
2:15 p.m. CUSTODY—THEFT ($20-$200). A 16-year-old Joshua High
School girl was taken into custody at Wal Mart for theft ($20-$200).
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24
1:52 p.m. BOOKING—UNLAWFULLY CARRYING A WEAPON; POS-
SESSION OF MARIJUANA. Jesse Dwayne Smith - of Grand Prairie was
arrested in the 300 block ofN.E. Craig for uniawfuLy carrying a weapon and
possession of marijuana (less than two ounces). Smith was armed with a .22-
caliber handgun.

12:10 a.m. BOOKING—PUBLIC INTOXICATION; WATAUGA WAR- ■
RANT. A 30-year-old Fort Worth man was arrested in the 1200 block of S.W. I

Heath Dennis Whitmore, 17, of Burleson was arrested in the 300 block of CR
714 for burglary of a habitation and Burleson Police Department warrant for
failing to display a valid driver's license.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 1
10:27 a.m. BURGLARY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE. An undisclosed amount
of money was taken from a white 1989 Dodge Dakota pickup parked at
Steppingstone Church on East Miller. The vehicle was locked at the time.
10:30 a.m. INCIDENT. A man wearing a ski mask and motorcycle helmet
walked into the Educational Employees Credit Union and asked for change
for a $100 bill. He told the teller he was getting gas across the street and they
wouldn't let him pay with a large bill. He left the financial institution without
an incident.
3:38 p.m. THEFT ($200-$750). A refrigertor was taken from an apartment in
the 200 block of Market Street.
THURSDAY DECEMBER 2
3:09 a.m. BOOKING—DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED. Gary Lyn
Black, 35, of Alvarado was arrested in the 200 block of West Renfro for
driving while intoxicated. Black was driving a blue 1978 Chevrolet when he
was arrested.
9:53 a.m. Jewelery, including a wedding band, was taken from the bedroom
of a residence in the 100 block of Wanda Way.
FRIDAY DECEMBER 3
2:24 p.m. THEFT ($200-$750). A diamond ring was left in the restroom at

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 18
1:40 a.m. BOOKING—DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED. Darrell Wayne
Moore, 38, of Burleson was arrested in the 700 block of James Circle for
driving while intoxicated. Moore was driving a dark blue 1983 Ford F-100
pickup when he was arrested.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19
2:49 a.m. BOOKING—ASSAULT/FAMILY VIOLENCE. A 28-year-old
Alvarado man was arrested in the parking lot of a gas station in the 100 block Crime of the Week
of North Burleson Blvd. for assault/family violence.
3:48 a.m. BOOKING—PUBLIC INTOXICATION. A 48-year-old Joshua
man was arrested at a restaurant in the 400 block of East Renfro for public
intoxication. ,
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 20
12:22 a.m. BOOKING—PUBLIC INTOXICATION. A 34-year-old Burle-
son man was arrested in the 900 block of NJE. Burleson Blvd. for public
intoxication. The man said he was drunk but was trying to walk home.
2:27 a.m. BOOKING—TCSO DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED WAR-
RANT. Brian Keith Barber, 26-year-old Cleburne man was arrested in the
100 block of N.E. Burleson Blvd. for a Tarrant County warrant for driving
while intoxicated.
2:55 a.m. CUSTODY—RUNAWAY; ASSAULT/FAMILY VIOLENCE. A
14-year-old Burleson Middle School girl was taken into custody at a resi-
dence in the 700block of Parkview for being a runaway and for assault/family
violence.
4:11 a.m. BOOKING—PUBLIC INTOXICATION. A 41-year-old Joshua
man was arrested in the 900 block of N.E. Burleson Blvd. for public
intoxication.

BURNE WARRANT FOR SPEEDING. A 19-year-old Burleson man was
arrested in the 300 block of S.W. Burleson Blvd. for a Johnson County
warrant for theft ($20-$200) and a Cleburne warrant for speeding. The man

1:29 p.m. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF ($200-$750). The front door of a resi-
dence in the 300 block of S.W. Thomas and a vehicle sitting in front of the
apartment, were damaged.
MONDAY DECEMBER 6
7:11 a.m. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF ($750-$20,000). A maroon 1982 Honda
motorcycle in the 400 block of S.W. Gordon was knocked over. The rear
