Staples started put on his 48th year with The. Edna
Herald. He ails here at the linotype, one of the news-
paper’s type-setting machines, as he has .been'doing
since his brother, il. K. .(Gap) Staples, now retired,
bought the first machine back in 11)18. Prior to that,
or practically since The Herald was established in 1906,
Hardeman has been an employee of the newspaper. He
observed the anniversary this week by working as usual.
