By DAN HALUGAN
DEAR DAN I have a terrihb
problem and need your help My
parents say I can date boys my
age but boys of my age don’t date
and my parents know Ons Kveo if
the boys did date. I wouldn t want
to go out with them because we
don't have die same interests The
boy* my age are just starting U<
mature and girls of the same age
have already matured I'm M
year* old and would aopre< late
your opinion on this Thank you
B S
DEAR B S Maybe your par
ents aren't no tough, after all I
gay that because I don t believe a
girl of 14 should be dating at all
For your part, I don't know what
age group boys you would like to
date but 1 don't like to see « high
school girl date any hoy nor e
than two year* older than she is
I'm sorry I can t offer you a soiu
lion but that's the way the an
iwers come out sometimes
DEAR DAN My girl friend and
1 had an argument several months
ago and still don't speak to each
other When we first got mad at
each other, 1 still tried to be nice
and always said hello but-1-ha t.
didn't do much good and we grad
ually stopped even saying hello
Now 1 hear from my friends she
Is whispering about me behind my
back There was only one time
when I said something behind her
back and 1 knew then I Was in the
wrong
Now 1 want to be friends with
her again but f don't know how to
go about it Please try to help m<-
-C S
DEAR C S You know, wilii all
the trouble we have in the world
today with wars and threats >J
war. with kids your age going to
bed hungry every night, draft you
think your friend and you ore n t
ing too much like adults in n o t
speaking
I know what it's like to have
pride and how tough it Is to «ay
"I’m sorry" hut also realize It’j-
about time the two of you made
up I'm sure your friend feels as
badly about this state <»f aTF.iir a-
you do and the sooner one of you
takes the Initiative and apologizes,
the quicker your friendship will get
hack on the f>eam Don t wait fin
her to make the first move A>
long as you worried enough about
this problem to write to me, i.triy
the ball all the way and muk-- up
with your friend right away
DEAR DAN When you're dafic-
ing with a !>oy. how do you know
whether to leave him or to dance
the following dan c e with him'1
' Does a bei? Wank a girt for »
dance or is .nothing said’ If he

[ax ted to say’—A LOYAL REAP
KR
DEAR READER If you're re
ferring to live music, usually there
is several .dances in a set and in
i belween danies, the few seconds1
it take*, you wait on the dance
flour with the hoy However, if you
■are referring to records, you're
only committed for one dance arid
immediately after the record stops
playing, the boy should escort you
from the floor back to your chair
or to wherever you were when he
asked you lor the dance
If a boy doesn't know enough to
escort a girl from the darn e floor,
[ then the girl should start leading
the way and even a dumb bunny
should at least accompany her
1 and not allow her to walk by her
self
Inasmuch as hoys always ask
girl* for dances, except in ladies
choice, a keoy should lx* expected
to thank a girl lor a dam e and in
turn the girl can say "You're web
(ume or I enjoyed the dance

There’s a type of gas heating equipment to meet
your particular needs... at a cost to fit your
budget. Perhaps it’s a floor furnace to furnish con-
trolled warmth for one or more rooms. Perhaps it’s
a simple space heater, or a compact, recessed wall
heater. Better still, you may want a central heating
system for uniform warmth throughout the house
... or a single, compact year-round gas heating and
air conditioning unit. Whatever your needs may be,
you’ll find the solution in GAS heating equipment—
with low first cost, lower operating cost, lowest up-
keep. See your heating dealer, contractor or the
