SHERIFF’S REPORT

Chief Deputy Sheriff
The following reports were taken
by the Rains County Sheriff’s
Department from September 28th
through October 4th, 1998.
9-28: Forgery of financial instru-
ment. It was reported that a person
had passed forged checks at the
First National Bank (Alba branch).
9-28: Burglary occurred at a resi-
dence in Point It was reported that
a safe and a large amount of money
were taken.
9-28: Assault occurred at a resi-
dence off FM 4299. It was reported
that a male was assaulted by being
thrown to the ground and choked
9-29 Indecency with a child. It
was reported that an eight-year-old
child was molested by a 15 year-old
child.
9-29. Theft occurred at a resi-
dence on CR 1280 between 8-1-98
and 9-26-98 It was reported that
several pieces of jewelry were
taken.
9-29: Theft. It was reported that
computer components were taken.
9- 30: Criminal mischief occurred
at the Rains High School. It was
reported that a student damaged a
vehicle that belonged to a teacher.
10- 1: Theft occurred at a resi-
dence on CR 4528. It was reported
that the registration sticker was
removed from the windshield of a
vehicle.
10-1: Theft occurred at Lake
Fork. It was reported that a tackle
box and two rods and reels were
removed from a boat.
10-2: Recovered stolen vehicle.
Vehicle that had been stolen out of
Hunt County was recovered on US
69, north of Point.
10-2: Theft. It was reported that a
hunting bow was taken from the
Residence on Free Bridge Rd.
Several items taken.
10-4: Theft over $20 and under
$500. Haydite blocks were taken
from a residence.

revoke, $5000 bond.
10- 1: Theft of property by check,
two counts, $806.95 fine.

EASTTAWAKONI FIRE
DEPARTMENT
In cooperation with the U.S.
Consumer Product Safety Commis-
sion (CPSC), Century Products Co.,
of Macedonia, Ohio, is voluntarily
recalling about 50,000 Fold ’N Go*
Care Centers for repair. The care
center's bassinet could have loose
fabric, which can create a pocket
near the floorboard in which an
infant can become entrapped and
suffocate.
Century has received four reports
of babies getting their head caught
between the bassinet’s mesh side
and floorboard, including one child
who reportedly required overnight
hospitalization.
Century is offering a free repair
kit designed to eliminate the pocket
The parts can be installed easily
without tools
Only Fold ’N Go* Care Centers
with model numbers 10-750 or 10-
760 manufactured before Septem-
ber 1998 are being recalled These
portable, wheeled care centers in-
clude a playard. a changing table
with a side storage compartment
and a bassinet Model 10-760
comes with a canopy The model
number and manufacture date are
found on the tube supporting the
underside of the playard “Century”
is imprinted on the side of the pla-
yard.
Juvenile product stores nation-
wide sold these care centers from
March 1998 through August 1998
for about $100 to $130.
Consumers should stop using the
bassinet immediately and call Cen-
tury at (800) 583-4092 anytime for
a free repair kit with installation
instructions. Consumers also can
write to: Century Products Com-
pany, Attention: Consumer Rela-
tions Department, 9600 Valley View
Road, Macedonia, OH 44056 Con-
sumers should not use the bassinet
until they have made the repair
Howevi r, the product may continue
to be used as a playard
