The Rains Wildcats lost a close
game to the Malakoff Tigers Friday
night in Tiger Stadium Despite a
strong comeback effort in the
fourth quarter, the Wildcats came
up one point short to lose 28-29.
The first quarter started out good
when Wildcat Bryan Kelley inter-
cepted a Tiger pass However, the
team failed to advance the ball, and
the Tigers scored a safety when
Wildcat Tommy Potts missed a bad

tempt and the ball bounced out of
the back of the end zone.

with I 15 remaining in the first
quater The PAT was good, giving
the Tigers a 9-0 lead.
The Tigers continued their strong
offense in the second quarter with a
45-yard touchdown dash The point
after was no good, but the Tigers
led 15-0

board when Jerry Lane bounded
over the goal line from two yards
out The conversion tun failed,
bringing the score to 15 6
The Tigers responded with a 34-
yard pass, caught by Tiger Joey
White in the corner of the end zone.
The extra point was good, giving
the Tigers a 22 6 lead
The Wildcats narrowed the gap in
the third quarter when Potts teamed
up with Casey Northcutt for a 26-
yard scoring pass Then Potts took
a quarterback sneak up the noddle
to bring the score to 22-14 with
1:52 left in the third quarter
The comeback was short lived
when Malakoff made a 75-yard run
to set up a touchdown for the

ball was moved back five yards and
