11th grade students at Rains
1SD will be administered the
Texas Assessment of Academ-
ic Skills (TAAS) on October 8,

trict. These test scores are an
important part of each stu-
dent's permanent academic
record.
For additional information
on TAAS, contact Ginger Ma-
bry, elementary/junior high

CONSTRUCTION WORK has finally taken place on the
long awaited Off-Systems Bridges to be built in Precinct 1 & 2.
County Commissioner William Potts, Preckfct 2, met early Fri-
day morning with the state highway department to begin tearing
out the old bridge located on Mustang Creek, County Road 3380.
The wooden bridge will be replaced with stkie department 3 bar-
rel 10 x 8 x 28 ft. culverts, according to highway department spe-
cifications. This is the first step to making CR 3380 into a Farm
to Market road. Work in Precinct 1, on Commissioner Jimmy
Roberts' old Sandy Creek bridge, will begin approximately 30
days later than this bridge. County dollars going towards this
project have netted $36,040.74, and quite a rift between county
commissioners as to what fund it should come from.

Morris Mandel, on
teaching: Have you ever seen a
plant with its leaves curled up?
Have you watered it & watch-
ed its leaves spread out
again? Almost as quick as that
can be the response of a child’s
mind to a teacher who knows
how to nourish it.
Slow
Drains?
You'll never have a slow running,
or clogged drain again! The secret?
Clean drains don't run slow.
Slow drains are signals your pipes are
choked with "gook". This gook coats
the entire length of your pipe-from sink
to sewer/septic. It chokes your pipes
gradually as it gets thicker and thicker.
Conventional drain openers cannot
remove this build up. Even a small
tunnel through the gook lets them
flow out to the sewer, leaving the
build up behind!
Now, without costly rooter-outer
bills, you can clean out your pipes like
new, with Plumb Clean. Its totally
unique formula clings, and penetrates
deep into the gook. That allows it to
liquefy even years of build up. Plumb
Clean will clean the entire length of
your pipes. It will make your drains
run like new, when used as directed.
This pcneirating action is so revolu-
tionary, Plumb Clean is money-back
guaranteed!
There are up to 41 drain treatments
per jar of Plumb Clean. That's more
treatments than 10 quarts of the leading
liquid drain opener. At 35<t per treat-
ment, Plumb Clean cleans drains for
less than anything we know of.
Conventional drain openers are dan-
gerous. They can injure eyes on con-
tact, release deadly vapors, and dam-
age sinks or tubs. When used as direct-
ed, Plumb Clean is 100% safe for peo-
ple and of course, all pluitllnng. ' '
