Dear Editor,
To the discourteous driver,
“Relax! You got away....”
Pat Pennebaker is employed by
RISD as an “in charge" bus driver.
She drives a big yellow school bus
and her aim is the safe transporta-
tion of students. This letter is fol-
lowing Pat’s letter of concerns. It’s
about the erosion of common
decency; or is it common sense?
Pupils should observe bus regula
lions. Everyone involved in this
incident was at the right place at the
right time. In the blink of an eye. a
vehicle sped past a stopped “big
yellow” school bus. This cannot be
allowed to just happen! The proba-
bilities of outcomes from this par-
ticular incident are unlimited We
are all responsible and all have
rights to existence.
I understand if the discourteous

driver had been reprimanded, even-
tually he would have just been dis-
missed with a ticket.
In an effort to prevent possible
injuries to students from traffic
mishaps, etc., everyone must re-
member and obey laws. Were you
going too fast, too slow, didn’t see,
talking, listening, too young, too
old, or just right?

Donations are
needed for the
Dunbar Cemetery
We are in the process of getting
the new land we purchased for the
Dunbar Cemetery leveled and in
shape for the new fence to be put
up. We have received some bids on
the fence, and it will cost around
$5,000.00 to get it put up. We are in
need of more money to be able to
get this done. If anyone would like
to make a donation on the fence,
you can mail it to Annie Johnson,
702 S. Texas St. #16, Emory, Texas
75440 or deposit it at the First
National Bank in the Dunbar Cem-
etery Fund. All donations will be
greatly appreciated.
A donation has been made to the
Dunbar Cemetery Association by
Fern Hughes in memory of Glenda
Russell.

Thursday meeting for
Cancer Support Group
The monthly meeting of the
Rains County Canc?r* Support
Group will be held Thursday, No-
vember 13, at the Rains County
Public Library at 7 p.m.
Jud and Barbara Simonson, own-
ers of The Good Life Health Food
Store and Massage Therapy in
Commerce, will be showing the
video, “Natural Progesterone,” by
Dr. John Lee, which they use in
seminars to inform women of the
benefits of natural progesterone in
treating menopausal symptoms and
fibro cystic breast disease. The dan-
ger of taking regular hormones will
also be pointed out since they can
cause breast cancer and other prob-
lems. Why take the chance when
there is a safe, easy-to-use alterna-
tive? The natural progesterone
cream, along with books, cassettes
and literature on the subject will be
available. Food containing natural
hormones will also be mentioned.
This video is a must for every
woman to see as well as the men in
their lives who need a better under-
standing of how women are affect-
ed physically and emotionally dur-
ing this time in their lives.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see
the video. Bring a friend with you
and a nutritious snack to share after
the meeting. A door prize will be
given, and a health-related loan
library will be available. •
