Marvin Eugene Wheatley. 64, of
Pea Ridge, Ark . died Wednesday,

We were granted another won-
derful privilege of gathering in
God's house to worship and praise
Him and hear the word that pre-
pares us to go through a new week
Bro. McRae brought a good les-
son on accepting life's responsibili-
ties followed by a special treat from
two of our small classes called the
Praisers and the Humble Bees.
Their theme was “Fishing Mission"
with the main thought on fishing for
souls. They marched in with their
fishing poles and fishing caps along
with their teachers. Sis. Simmons
and Sis. Pruitt. Bro. and Sis.
Coffman assisted them with the
tapes, as they acted out their songs.
They always plant enthusiasm in
our hearts
Amanda Sims and Lacey
Coffman received awards from Sts.
Pruitt.
Pastor Ishmael challenged our
hearts with two powerful messages
entitled “Seeing is Believing" from
John 20 and "What Can You See?"
from Prov. 29:18
The choir ministry and special
songs were a blessing as always.

everyone who made our worship
special The choir sang a beautiful
medley Rev David Diller gave the
message. “Getting Through Rough
Times" taken from Luke 21 5-19
The new church directories are in

or at the church office during the

Upper Room Daily Devotionals are
in the front entry hall
A memorial service will be held
at I p.m. Wednesday for Marvin
Wheatley
The county-wide Thanksgiving
service will be Tuesday. Nov 24th
at 7 p m at Pilgrim Rest Baptist
Church.
Boy Scouts will meet on Tuesday
at 7 p m. Elementary fellowship is
every Wednesday right after school
until 4:20. UMYF will meet from
5:30-7 p m. Choir practice begins at
7. The finance committee will meet
Thurs., Nov 19. at 7 p.m. Disciple
Bible study will be from 9:30a m -
12 on Sat . Nov 21. On Sunday,
Nov. 29th. a snack supper and game
night will be held at 6 p.m On
Monday, the 30th, a special charge
conference has been called for 7
p.m
Pastor Ishmael sang a solo.
Sis. Ishmael has a cold and was
not up to singing Other specials
were by Amy. Teresa, and Bro.
Lindsey.
We had extended prayer and alter
service as different ones stood in
the gap for loved ones with various
needs. Continue to pray for Vickie
Harris's mother. Bro. Isenburg's
mother. Jayne Nutt's mother. Nona
House, and for Essie Smith who is
in the hospital in Greenville. Say a
special prayer for Frances Potts and
her family as they face difficult
times. Remember all requests
given, and pray for the lost and our
young men and our country.
Part of Sunday night service was
about renewal time for “Reach for
the Son" ministries that support var-
ious services throughout the world
We say welcome to all our visi-
tors in every service and anytime
Children who w ish to take part in
the Christmas program need to plan
on practicing next Sunday. Lunch
will be provided.
Last Wednesday night our pastor
taught on the kind" of faith that takes
us Through all the ups and downs of
this life 1 hope you make plans to
come this Wednesday night.

The UMYF will be selling
Thanksgiving pies on Sunday, Nov.
22 They are asking for donations of
sugar, flour, canned pumpkin and
pie crusts. All donations need to be
brought to the church by Wednes-
day. the 18th. Special requests for
desserts will be taken. If you would
like something special made, please
contact Darlene Culberson or Anna
Diller.

The East Texas foliage is begin-
ning to pul on a show of oranges,
reds and golds everywhere Our
Master Painter is painting the coun-
tryside with His big brush God is
every where this year The trees are
glorious this fall We should give
thanks to God for the beauty of the
season
We had a good group at church
Sunday, but several were missing
The Januarvs and others were
absent You were certainly missed,
and I hope you will be back soon
There are several in need of spe-
cial prayers. Please remember
James at Mother Frances in Tyler.
Walt Stoll is not feeling well;
Bobby Joe Stevens is having
surgery in Tyler; and my friends in
Canton, the Rollinson family.
Praise the Lord for returning

to be mending and feeling better

We had a wonderful lime at
church in the morning and evening
services. It thrilled me to see the
three girls, Amanda and Amber
Mashbum and Katy Warren, get off
the bus and so full of life. They real-
ly acted nice in church. Amanda
was not feeling well. Donna and
Phillip Miller sang a duet during the
morning service. Bro. John Turner
sang a beautiful solo during the
evening service Dr. Paul Anderson
preached some thought-provoking
and inspirational sermons. We are
happy to welcome Gracie Carrawav
into our fellowship by baptism
We attended the funeral of Mary
Hays on Wednesday in Quinlan
Mary was a faithful member of our
church. She sang beautiful specials
that thrilled my heart She resided
in Whispering Oaks before she
went to live in a rest home in
Greenville.
It was great to have Geneva
Smith back with us. She has been in
Dallas with her sisters and brother
Dr Anderson again made a video
of both services.
Sunday, November 22nd. is the
11th anniv ersary of our church We
had our first service on Sunday.

Willie S. Majors, 95, of Frank-
ston died Tuesday, Nov. 10, at
Frankston Health Care Center
Graveside services were held at 2
p.m Thursday, Nov. 12, at Lynch
Cemetery with Rev. Randy Wallace
officiating.
She was born July 28, 1903, to
L.O “Bud” and Mary Ogburn
Stockton in Rains County. She mar-
ried Waller N Majors in 1921 in
McKinney. She was a homemaker
and a Baptist.
Survivors are a son and daughter-
in-law. Ame A. and Helen Majors
of Emory, a daughter. Lou E>ella
Majors Heeth of Frankston; two sis-
ters. Artie Ree Henderson and
Mollie Henderson, both of Cali-
fornia, two grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her
husband Walter in 1982; one son.
Walter Majors. Jr., in 1925; and a
daughter. Jennie V. Majors in 1932

Mr and Mrs Milton Jopling were

brate their 31st wedding anniver-
sary on Wednesday. They went to
Dallas on Saturday to a great-
granddaughter's birthday party, and
their kinsfolk had an anniversary
party for them. too.
It was good to have Nancy
Simmons at church and Sunday
school. She helps with the children
She was expecting their son and his
family on Sunday afternoon.
Huston and Nancy are anxiously
awaiting the arrival of their new
grandchild.

believed in the name of the only

Baptist Church and a retired truck

Lonnie Fuller. 79, of Garland

Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard
Burial was in the Ixonard Cem-
etery.
Mr Fuller was born May 12.
1919. in Delba, the son of George
Allie and Bettie Atwood Fuller He
married Gene Swafford on Sept. 1.
1945, in Trenton A former Leonard
resident, he was a retired mechanic
and a member of the Teamsters
Union.
Surviving are his wife of Gar-
land. daughter. Linda Smith of
Rowlett, son. Roger Fuller of
Dallas and Steve Fuller of Lone
Oak; sisters. Florence Broyles of
Mesquite. Louella Sudderth of
Leonard. Veatnce Brewer and Ima

moved to Pea Ridge in 1977 from
Corpus Chrisli, to make his home
He was owner and operator of
"Starvin Marvin,” a printing and
advertising business in this area for
many years He was preceded in
death by his mother, Edna
Wheatley.
Survivrs are two daughters.

of Emory Baptist church at 10 a m. Friday to assemble “Rains 2000" pack-
ets which were distributed to approximately 3,600 households in Rams
County Saturday morning Each packet contained the Gospel of John, a light
butt), Rams 2000 literature and a list of the churches in Rams County. The
theme of the packet was “The Light That Gives Life
