1 YOUR FIRE DEPT.
7.
The f iro department was called
to Lynn Bartlett's Mill and Feed
Store last Friday at noon to put
out a small blaze. rime fire was
caused bv a rock cetting into the
mill and catching the feedstuff
afire. Chemicals were used to
extinguish the. fire with only a
little damage.
Earlv Sunday morning the fire
department was called to Holland
where the Cox Grocery uo. was
on fire. The Holland ifiro de-
partment had the fire under
control but as there was danger
of the adjoining buildings catch
ing they called the Bartlett tire
department as their equipment
includes a pumper and the Hol-
land truck does not. The con-
tents of the building was a total
loss and the building itself
damaored considerably.
The fire which was noticed at
4:30 A. M. aroused considerable
excitement in Bartlett due to
the continued blowing of the
Bartlett siren. There were ap-
proxmately fifty carloads of
Bartlett citizens that went to
Holland only to be turned back
as the fire had been practically
out out.
The Bartlett Fire Department
is readv and willing to answer
nnv emergency call at any time
of the day or night.
The department is planning
to have some kind of entertain-
ment in the near future to help
raise money for the different
uses of the department. If
there is someone who has a
suggestion please see some
member of the department as
each suggestion will be greatly
appreciated.
