Clara Spinks Hall's husband
passed away Wednesday in Chi-
cago. His service was in Kilgore at
the First Baptist Church Clara is a
retired school teacher and did her
leaching in Kilgore
Eva Parkin an reported that their
friend’s father passed away. His
memorial was at Emory Baptist
Church Saiurday.
Bertie Young enjoyed has ing her
sister visit this week Wilmon also
visited her brother in Arkansas She
lives in Arizona
Duce Young and his wife have a
6 lb. 7 oz baby boy His first name
is Flelcher His great-grandmother
said he is really a cute baby with
dark hair Kay Fowler and Bertie
Young had their lunch ready when
they got home from the hospital.
Douglas Gaby put trim on the
roof at Elm Church Friday, and it
looks great. We are proud of the
new roof. Of course, we waited
until it leaked inside, which means
more work and expense We also
need to paint the front doors and fix
a window Woodrow Asbill pul out
ant poison in the Elm Cemetery
again this week.
Eva and j W Parkman worked on
James's rent house this week Little
JJ Martin plans to spend next week
with them It was nice to have the
Martins in church Sunday
Woodrow Asbill and Kelly Bar-
rett visited us Saturday prior to
Woodrow's great-grandson's birth-
day party at Paul Ratliffs house.
He was one year old. and 1 saw a
new red wagon sitting in the yard
Sunday.

Homer Bishop went hunting
Friday and got around some rag-
weed, so he is sick.

TWo Rains County 4-H’ers com-
peted at die Slate Fair of Texas.
LaCresha Carmichael competed
in the heifer-breeding beef division,
where she placed 4th with her heifer
Dixie. 6th with her heifer Jasmine,
and 17th with her heifer Angel
Justin Wolfe competed in the
market hog division, where he
placed 10th.
