Survey to be
Taken in Emory
The City of Emory will be
taking an income survey in
person door-to-door of resi-
dents inside the City Limits, to
determine income levels as
part of documentation /WJWred
to qualify for a Community
Development Program grant of
$300.000.(X). The idea is to
determine whether Emory is a
low-to-moderate income area
or moderate-to-high income
area.
The surveys do not ask your
income, but simply ask if your
income is above or below the
amount shown on a chart (for
the number of people in your
household). For example, fora
family of four, is your total
combined income above or
below $16,000 (approx.).
Also, your name will not ap-
pear anywhere on the survey,
nor your mailing address.
We urge everyone involved
to cooperate with the person(s)
who call on you to take this
vital information. It is needed
because the 1980 census in-
come information is nearly 8
years old and was not accurate
to begin w ith
Your cooperation could
make the difference in whether
or not the City of Emory
qualifies for the $300,000
grant
The survey will be taken
within the next 2 or 3 weeks.
