development including some
issues of people walking or jog-
ging in the middle ol the mad.
"Some people arc more upset
about that titan the speed limit,"
he said.
Dougherty concluded In sav-
ing that by state statute, impost
ed roads, or roads without post-.
ed speed limit signs, are auto
mattcally TO mph.
Sleeper said that lie was not
aware there would be a negative
response to his request since, as
president ol the association, he
was reacting to the support he
received during a meeting to
make the 2(1 mph request.
Judge Dougherty told Sleeper
that a numbei ol people have
come forth to sav that they do
not want to drive 20 mph
throught the addition as they
travel in and out. He added that
according to the people w ho had
approached him most of the
people speeding in the addition
are not residents ol the develop-
ment but outsiders.
He suggested that either 30
mph signs be posted in the sub-
division or the court table the
matter until the subdivision can
come to a consensus and present
a petition requesting a speed
change.
No action was, taken but the
court agreed to request that the
road and bridge department post
30 mph signs in the addition.

reflection of a general easing of

sistent with a slowing economy"

ing districts. Local sales tax allo-
