GOOD BUSINESS
A goo* business man is al-
ways held in high esteem, be-
cause he will not violate any
law that defeats the chief aim
in life—that it foe lived in
greatest abundance.
The man who acquires a
fortune and dies in early life
is not a good business man; he
has failed in life’s most im-
portant end. He tuts not had
the business sense to take care
of the mast precious thing to
him—his health.. What is life
worth to you if you are dead,
or even half dead?
Sometimes I have to ham-
mer it into the heads of my
most intelligent patrons, that
their activities amount to slow
font certain suicide! Some take
the warning; of coarse some
do not.
Here are some serious faults
that many so-called business
men indulge in daily: Sashing
from home mornings, with in-
sufficient breakfast to fit the
foody properly for the day’s
work. timing downtown, at
"luncheon” to save time; these
two principal meals of the day
are almost ignored in the inter-
est of “business ” Going home
at the close of hours, tired,
worried, often exhausted in
mind and body, to swallow a
heavy dinner. Lastly, retiri
late, in the belief that the
gorge will be digested at bed-
time.
The i. ..ction of healthy
sleep is to repair the nervous
and mental wear of (he day.
This wear is not repaired in a
sleep that is simply stupor—
unconsciousness—the stupor
produced by the bludgeon, the
knockout. It is not healthy.
BUILD!
Costs Are Lowest in Years
Lumber and building materials, tabor and supervision
are all at the lowest level in many years. The year 1982
is decidedly the year to build! And every indication is
that real estate prices can not long remain at the present
low point. If you have been planning to build, this is
the year to consider it seriously. Let ns assist with esti-
mates without obligation to yon. Simply phone. We
shall be pleased to catL .

Menard.—The first baby
beef show ever held by the
boys’* 4-H ciabs of Xessrd
county brought out 96 fat
calves to be judged while a
crowd of more than six hun-
dred people looked on, re-
ports Frank Newsom, county
farm agent, under whose su-
pervision the boys had carried
on this, their first feeding ex-
perience. Four fecal organi-
zations went in with the bus-
ness men of Menard to defray
the expenses of marketing the
calves and to give cash and
trade premiums to the boys. A
carlo* of the best calves was
selected and seat to the show
at San Angelo, and the fifteen
boys whose calves had ranked
highest went along to show
and take care of the stock. No
biee ribbons were won, but
the calves placed in every

parents were satisfied with the
