mond white peau de sole fash-
ioned in the watteau silhouette.
The Sabrina necklined bodice
was created of re-embroidered
Alencon lace sewn with tiny
pearls, which also framed the
liortg pointed sleeves. The dome
phaped skirt swept to elaborate
back fullness and cascaded to
a flowing chapel-length train.
Her finger-tip length veil of
Chantilly lace was worn Ma-
donna fashion.
Miss Angela Gallemore was
maid of honor. Miss Phyllis
Eidt, the bride’s cousin, served
as bridesmaid. Bobby Taylor of
Beaumont attended the bride-

The WSCS of the Firs'
Methodist Church met Wednes-
day in the sanctuary with 21
members and one visitor pres-
ent.
Mrs. L. E. Martin presided
over the business meeting. Mrs.
N. P. McCarney opened the
meeting with prayer.
Reports from various com-
mittees- were given by the
chairmen.
Mrs. Harry Holt, Mrs. A. E.
Redkey and Mrs. Herman Ad-
ams were appointed on the
fruit cake sales committee.
A sunshine Ladies committee
was appointed to visit shut-in
members. They were Mrs. Paul

Are Among 2,000 In
Nederland Ceremony
Seventeen members of the
All Souls Catholic Church in
Silsbee, as well as representa-
tives from six other area coun-
ties, participated in the pro-
cessional ot more than 2000
Catholic men inaugurating the
Feast of Christ the King held
Sunday in the Nederland foot-
ball stadium.
The processional, which was
led by the Knights of Colum-
bus group from Beaumont,
travelled from St. Charles
Catholic Church in Nederland
to the football stadium.
Rev. Adolph Marx, auxiliary
bishop of Corpus Christi, serv-
ed as main speaker for the
celebration.
Melanny Schwartz has been
appointed as the new Social
Security field representative
lor Hardin and South Liberty
counties. Miss Schwartz will
work out of Beaumont district
office, relieving Richard D.
Shepherd, who will now serve
North Liberty County.
Miss Schwartz said that she
would be in Silsbee at 8:30
a. m. each Thursday at the Fire
Department Hull to answer all
inquiries and to give assistance
to people who want to file for
Uhcir social security benefits.
Prior to her promotion to
field representative, Miss
Schwartz served as claims rep-
resentative in the Beaumont
office.

The Silsbee Trail Riders will
meet Saturday morning at 9:30
a. m. in front of the Blue Bon-
net Cafe and participate in the
homecoming parade.

surgery Friday at St. Therese
Hospital in Beaumont.
Frank Shannon of Newport,
Ore., visited Friday and Sat-
urday with his sister, Mrs. Le-
ola Wiggins. Mr. Shannon had
not seen his sister in 33 years.

and Mrs. Lewis Wiggins and

Wiggins of Houston. Mr. Shan-
non is planning to make his
home in Houston in the future.

tioned at Fort Leonard Wood,

At Evadale Begins
Annual Cake Sale
The Ladies Auxiliary of the
Evadale Volunteer Fire De-
partment have begun their an-
nua! fruitcake sale for this
year.
The cakes come in reusable
metal containers and are of a
well-known brand. They come
in 2, 3, and 5 pound sizes. Mail-
ing cartons can also be obtain-
ed for a small charge.
Anyone wishing to purchase

Mrs. Cecil Nash is offering
piano lessons to beginning stu-
dents and will. teach in indi-
vidual’s homes.
Mrs. Nash, the former Alicia
Ann Ragan, was a student of
Marion Walton for nine years
in voice and piano. She played
in the Silsbee High School
band.

Kiwanis Program To
Hear Mrs. Miller
“We Build,” Kiwanis-spon-
sored radio program over Sta-
tion KKAS, Silsbee, will have
Mrs. Virvl Miller, 160 Ave. I,
as guest, on Nov. 8. The pro-
gram runs for 15 minutes each
Wednesday morning beginning
at 0:15.
Mrs. Miller will be inter-
viewed by the moderator re-
garding her personal convic-
tions, her work in St. John’s
Episcopal Church, and her
opinions regarding Silsbee and
the area. Mrs. Miller is a part
time seervetary for St. John’s
Church, and serves as area cor-
respondent for the Beaumont
Journal.
