Watsey Harris was a Timp-
son visitor Saturday and plac-
ed bis announcement with this
paper for the office of county
superintendent of public in-
struction. Mr. Harris is a for-
mer Timpsoa resident, having
moved away from here in
1914. He was born in this
community and has taught
school in the county for the
past twenty-“five years. Mr.
Harris' formal announcement
appears in today’s Times.
Geo. N. Bagwell of Tenaha,
candidate for county tax col-
lector-assessor, was a Timpson
visitor last Saturday.

Mr. Willie Patrick and
Miss Willie Green, young

were united in marriage last
Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'-
clock at the office of Judge J.
C. Bog-ard, with Judge Bogard
officiating.
Mr. Patrick is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Patrick and
the bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Tam Green, both
well known families of this
community.
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick will
make their home in the Rose
Hill community, and have
many friends who wish the
much happiness in their new
relationship.
Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Watson
spent Sunday with Mr. Wat-
son's parents Mr. and Mrs. T.
E. Watson at Longview.

son, S. B. Crenshaw left this
afternoon for Dallas where
they will make a short visit
with relatives.
A. L. Pinkston of Tenaha,
candidate for county judge,
was among the candidates
shaking hands with the voters
in this city last Saturday.
With rising temperature
and warm sunshine prevailing
today,'it is believed the fruit
and track crops of this section
will not suffer damage as a re-
sult of the cold weather pre-
vailing Sunday and Sunday
night. The cold wave reach-
ed this section about mididgbt
Saturday and sent the mercury
tumbling downward, and in-
habitants tumbling out of bed
to And additional cover. Sleet,
with sane snow fell during the
morning hours here, but melted
away to a large extent during
the day. Tomato plants were
protected from the freeze, ac-
cording to information from
many sources.
Official Election Notice
Notice is hereby giver, that
the trustees of Timpson Inde-
pendent School District have
ordered an election to be held
in the directors room of the
Guaranty Bond State Bask
building in the City of Timp-
son, Te-as, on the first Satur
day in April next, the same
being the seventh day of April,
1934, for the purpose at elect-
ing three trustees, the terms of
Geo. Hutcherson, Ross Hop-
kins and J. E. Blankenship ex-
piring.
W. S. Espy is appointed
manager, and Paul Evans and
J. N. Craig, clerks of said
election.

Mr. and Mrs. Clant E. Shep-
herd went to Alexandria, La.,
Saturday afternoon where Mr
Shepherd will receive exami-
nation and treatment at the
Veteran’s hospital in that city.
Mr. Shepherd has been in fll
health for sometime, and his
friends trust that he muy
quickly respond to treatment.
J. J. Compton and Roy Shep-
herd accompanied them, re-
taining immediately to Tiirp-
son. Mrs. Shepherd remained
in Alexandria with her hus-
band.
L. E. Bryan of Nacogdoches
is spending the day in Timp-
son with his father and other
relatives, and transacting bus-
iness fox. the Nacogdoches firm
which he represents.
