AMERICA'S GREATEST NEED
America must increase Us dairy herds. There are only
24,000,000 milch cows in the United States today, as compar-
ed with 35,000,000 in 1014. Dairy cows by the millions have
hern slaughtered for food, by Denmark, Sweden, and Nor-
way particularly. All Europe’s dairy herds have been sadly
reduced.
This country must provide and sell diary products to all
Europe. We need more than 45,000,000 milch cows to do
this adequately.
The farmer who Increases his dairy herd now Is not only
doing his duty to the world, but is certain to profit in a big
way.
This should Interest this community. It is going to
benefit by owning more and better dairy cattle? We have
the land to feed them on. wa have the brains to care for
them and take the profit. This bank has the money to fi-
, nance their purchase if our assistance is needed.
Come in and let's talk this dairy problem over.

THE GIRL WHO MUST WORK
! Sometimes we hear It said of this
person or that one, “that she is only
a working girl.” The New South-
land "dopester” has often heard the
remark and he felt like resenting it .
every time. Did God ever make any-
body too good to work? The Saviour
v ho cime down and lived a pure life
among us was a working man and He
called to the leadreship of His great
cause working people.
Because some good girl unfortu-
nately has to toil to make an honest
living, does that place her below some j
ether girl w-ho has a daddy with ^
plenty of dough’ It certainly doe* (
not. She is not only just 33 clear*
and honorable, just as sweet in the
sight of angles, but she is more than
that—she is useful, she^ is helping to
plant flowers that the world will
| smell and appreciate as they* travel
down the road of life,
j Never say anything derogatory of i
a working girl! Remember that God
I made her w ith a soul as limpid as the
I heart of a lily and that if she stays 1
'that way she is fair, perfumed flower
in the garden of the world that should
I he looked upon with admiration and j
j love.
If a girl doesn’t have to work, we j
do not blame her for that. But which j
'lias the most value, the one who does |
earn an honorable living by the sweat
I of her brow, the one who with her j
j hands helps somebody or the girl who
never does anything but read novels,
| paint her nose and attend thg high
society stunts?
We are for the working girl, she is
las sweet and clean and adorable as
! any other. She lives a life that add3
something to the world, while there
are many who merely take something
out of the world. Never say anv-
thlng uncomplimentary of her; be
ready to cheer or praise her as she
toils in the shop or the home or where
ever she must perform a service In
order to live. Remember that God
never pave anybody permission to live
on this earth without work. A harp
of gold may be beautiful to look upon,
but the harp that renders music, that
is the one that sweetens life’s way—
