YOUR INVITED - The children and grandchildren of Don and
Lola Mitchell will be hosting a 50th wedding anniversary party on
Saturday, November 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the home of Joe and Donna
Riley. All friends are invited to help celebrate with the family. In
lieu of gifts, you are asked to have a favorite memory written down
to be included in a scrapbook of their marriage.
Now the vines, weed, trash, and unsightly alley entrance is a
show-off spot of what just one can accomplish. Weren't there some
more lessons in those early math books about one and one, two and
two? And before long, the multiplication table was introduced! It
does add up.

MAGNIFICO! - Johnny Grajcevci and his hard-working
staff at the Italian Garden invite the community to sample
their fine Italian cuisine.
taste, of Uta£ij in OSuHrtin
A new restaurant has opened in Dublin: the Italian Garden.
Located at 231 South Patrick Street, the Garden is now open from
11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
The owner is Johnny Grajcevci. He's been in Dublin for two
months.. His first year was spent in New York, and afterwards he
worked with some of his family in New Jersey as a cook for a year
and a half. He spent two and a half years in the Dallas area, one
year as a manager and one and a half years as a cook. This is his
first time as an owner, but he's planned for it for a long while. "It's
a family tradition to work in the restaurant business and own our
own restaurant," Johnny explains.
Some of the delicious offerings are chicken marsalla, chicken
piccata, pizzas, pastas, casseroles, subs, sandwiches, appetizers,
salads, and much more. Specials start the week of the 26th of
October with the first a $5.95 meal plus dessert. Johnny's own
favorite dish is chicken carcoffini, though it's not on the menu It
anyone has a favorite Italian dish that isn't listed on the menu, sim-
ply ask for it and it will be made.
The. Garden seats 75 people, and caters. It also hosts birthday
parties, weddings, and other celebrations. Special prices exist for
big companies, and they deliver to them.
So why did Johnny choose Dublin for his business? "It's a quiet
town, with nice people, and it looked like it needed a good restau-
rant."
This restaurant will participate in the Safe Trick or Treat on
Friday. For more information, call 254-445-4920.

School colors
Band Uniforms
Dublin High School colors have
not always been green and gold.
The colors for the City of Dublin
have been green and white, at least
since the 1920's, which is about
*
when the city flag was adopted.
But, at that time, and possibly
going back to the beginning of adop-
tion of school colors, Dublin used
purple and white. It wasn't until
1945-1956 when the colors were
changed to green and gold.
Exactly why the colors were
changed is not known. There are stories that uniform makers could not get pur-
ple dye during or after World War II. There is also the story that the city helped
buy the uniforms and wanted green and gold. And there is the story that green
and gold uniforms were donated.
The «xact color of green that has been used has varied over the years. For|
much of the time, as it is now, the green used is Kelly Green and the gold is
Yellow-Gold. However, when the new high school was built, a darker green
was being used in uniforms and that color was followed in the decorating
scheme for the school.
However, last year, the football uniforms went back to Kelly Green and as
fans have stated, you know when Dublin takes the field.
