Lindsay Hightower and
Hubert Lejeune Jr proudly
announee the birth of their son,
Ashton James Lejeune on
October I, 2004 at HEB
Hospital.
He weighed eight pounds,
eight ounces and was 21 inches
long.
Grandparents are Steve and
Donna Hightower, Hubert
Lejeune, and Sham Germen.
The American Cancer
Society Relay For Life of Erath
County is just around the comer.
Former and current cancer
patients, their families,
businesses, civic organizations,
and the general public are
invited to take part in this
exciting team event. Relay For
Life of Erath County will be
held on April 22nd and 23rd at
the Stephenville City Park.
Relay For Life is the
American Cancer Society's
version of an athletic relay, but
with a new twist. Relay For Life
is a family-oriented event where
participants enjoy the
camaraderie of a team and also
raise funds to support the
activities of the American
Cancer Society. Participants
camp out at the
Relay site and when they are
not taking their turn walking or
running, they take part in fun
activities and enjoy local
entertainment.
Participants collect donations
and can win individual and team
prizes for their efforts.
"Relay For Life brings the
progress against cancer to the
forefront," said Joy King, Team
Development Chair. "Many
participants are our family,
friends, and neighbors who have
been cured of cancer
themselves. Their involvement
is proof of the progress that has
been made not only in cancer
Audrey Payne
A girl, Audrey Elise D’Lynn
Payne, was born Oct. 7, 2004, at
the Hills Hospital to Darrell and
Jacque' Payne of Watauga.
She weighed 6 pounds, 5
ounces and was 18 and 'A inches
long. She was welcomed home
by brothers Connor Payne, 4,
and Skylar Payne, 16.
Maternal grandparents are
Hilda Faglie of Fort Worth and
the late Jack Roden.
Paternal grandparents are
Orval and Larue Payne of
Dublin.
Lingleville Cards
get to second level
Lingleville's Lady Cardinals
advanced to the second stage of
play-offs T uesday night and played a
strong game against St. Jo but ended
up losing 24-26, 13-25, 19-25.
Coach Brad Sekula said the team
had good practices and played good
but lost the first three serves, came
back but lost the first game and that
set the tone for the match.
Gist week, the team won in the
first round of play-offs, winning over
Fort Worth Masonic I lome in three
games, 25-4,25-6,25-13.
Hie Cardinals had a 5-11 regular
season record, 8-2 in district and
ended up the year with a 16-12.
All-District honors went to Katie
Hart, first team, and Korie Hart,
second team.
Honorable mention was given to
Macie Frost, Hannnah Fair and
Cassee Click.

The Dublin Public Library annual book, bake and craft sale is
being planned for two weeks from now.
It will be Friday, Nov. 19th noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Nov.
20th 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We were so proud of our
turn out at our voting polls
Tuesday despite the rainy
weather. For those of you who
voted early, you were most
fortunate. And those of you
who braved the muddy yard
area, well, what can I say
except you deserve a medal.
We even had to request more
ballots.
Phil House cooked up a pot
of stew and Tommy Hooks
brought some cornbread. That
made our day having a hot
meal.

Law Enforcement Appreciation
Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday
in the Stephenville Junior High
Cafetorium. Several area law

nominated officers for the
church's "Officer of the Year"
award.
