Things are going good at
the Center.
Everything is kind of back
to normal. We have the
Wednesday potluck. Come
and join us at 11:30 a.m.
every Wednesday.
Most of you that work
come by and grab a bite
with us.
Monday, Tuesday,
Thursday, and Friday we
have chair exercise with
LaMay. This is by all means
a good workout for you. I
did some of the exercises
the other day. This is good
for you. Come and join the
ladies at 9:30 a.m. until 10
a.m. Hope to see you there.
We had a great turnout
for our Friday night
Jamboree. The music was
great and the fellowship
was even greater. Everyone
had a good time.
There was lots of laughter
and a lot of toe tapping to
great, great music. Thanks
to all that participated in
playing and singing some
very good runes. Come and
join us every second Friday
in the month.
We start at seven o'clock
pm. Donations are greatly
appreciated. There will be
refreshments. Hope to see
you there.
The Red Hat lunch went
really well. The food was
great as always. Let’s see
how many we can bring
with us next month. That
takes place the third Monday

came for a short visit last
week. Sonia & Chris are
expecting their third baby.

Ronald Mathis and son,
Walker, arrived for a
weekend visit us and had
breakfast with his cousins
Sunday morning before he
and Walker left. Ronald
needl'd to get a trailer so he
could haul the brush & such
from their acreage.
Alice Keith had major
surgery' January 1 5 in Fort
Worth and returned home
January 19. I stopped by
Monday to visit and she was
in a good mood and very
cheerful. She is recuperating
very' well and that makes a
lot of us happy for we all
love her so. The home
nurses and Janie Barnes are
taking very good care of
her.
Larry Dupriest wasn't up
to the details about the birth
of lus grandson but he did
say that Aiden Rodriquez
was bom about 2 weeks ago
and weighed in the
neighborhood of 7 lbs. Dana
is visiting her in-laws while
her husband is in the
process of moving their
things back to Texas.
All of Frances Armstrong's
family came to celebrate
her birthday January 17.
She said her cake was both
chocolate and white with
yellow frosting and they
had lots of different kinds
of ice cream. And last
Sunday she had another
family get together.
The menu for next Sunday
is "Beans N' Cornbread.”
Ronnie Couch called to let
us know that he has high
speed on his computer and
every month at 11:30 a.m.
Call the center and put
your name on the list. We
have had a really great time
with LaMay as our Red Hat
Ladies leader. LaMay is
passing the honor on to
Ruth Marsh. Get your name
on the list for February'. We
always have a wonderful
meal prepared by Susie
King.

The Dublin Rotary Building
will host life Line Screening
on February 9. The site is
located at 136 East Blackjack
Street in Dublin.
Appointments will begin at
9 a.m.

of rain so far. It was sure

Women's Thursday Club
met in the home of Eddie
Raley for their semimonthly
meeting.
This was the first meeting
of the dub in 2011.
Mrs. Raley displayed a
beautiful table of
refreshments that were
enjoyed during the
presentation other program
on Chinese architecture.
Dr. and Mrs. Raley had
been to China and the
program was enhanced by
their traveling experiences.
The powerpoint
presentation took those in
attendance to that far- away
land through pictures from
beautiful palaces to the
Great Wall of China.
The next meeting of the
dub will be T hursday, Feb.
3 at 4 p.m. in the classroom
of Patti Miller at Dublin
Elementary School.
Ms. Miller will be
presenting a program on
Architecture in Africa and
India followed by
refreshments.
The ladies will be taken
back to their school days of
learning in this classroom
setting.

A distaff meeting of the
Teha I.anna Chapter
NSDAR was called to order
by Regent Dottie Corbin at
2:15 PM on Tuesday, Jan.
18, 2011 at the First
Presbyterian Church in
Stephenville.
The opening ritual
included pledges to both
the American and Texas
flags, reciting of the
American’s Creed and
Preamble to the
Constitution. Then prayer
was offered by Anita Lane,
chapter Chaplain.
Prospective members
Mary Curtis and Ann
Rountree were introduced
and welcomed to the
meeting. Charlene Moser
read a brief article from
T he Defender.
Eloise Horak presented
helpful genealogy
information regarding the
National Archives located
in Ft. Worth. The new
research room will house
microfilmed and digitized
records used primarily for
family research.
It will have ten computers
for searching online for
records. There will be free
access to Ancestry.com
and Footnote.com.
The new facility will be
located on the east side of
Montgomery Plaza on 7th
St. in Ft. Worth. Hours will
be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday through Friday
and the third Saturday of
each month. They will
open in February.
Dianne Day read the
minutes from the
November meeting and
they were approved as
read.
Judy McNeill gave the
Treasurer's report.
Standing committee
reports were given by the
various chairmen.
Melinda Hammonds
announced that there
would be four Good
Citizens this year from
DeLeon, Dublin, Huckaby
and Stephenville.
Judy McNeill and Linda
Bowden provided and
served refreshments to the
guests and the following
members: Mary Jane
Blakley, Elizabeth Cook,
Dottie Corbin, Merry
Cowan, Dianne Day,
Melinda Hammonds, Eloise
Horak, Jane Klein, Anita
Lane and Charlene Moser.
The group then
proceeded to complete the
annual NSDAR Master
Questionnaire led by
Dottie Corbin and Linda
Bowden.
The meeting was
adjourned at 4:45 PM.
Next month’s meeting will
be at 2 PM on Tuesday,
February 15 at the First
Presbyterian Church. Lore
Dietrich will present a
program about her family’s
escape from Yugoslavia.
Daughters of the
American Revolution are
dedicated to the promotion
of historic preservation,
education and patriotism.
