NON FAT DRY MILK:

Grade A $0.84* pound.
Observation and Outlook:
In the East, supplies are seasonally
increasing. Fluid demand is fair at the
winter residents leave their southern
sanctuaries. Manufacturing plants see a
moderate increase in activity. Cream
needs are short in some areas because
warm weather has brought on an
increase in demand for ice cream, and
butter demand is improving.
In the Central Suites. Class I demand
is light and manufacturing plants are
swamped with milk. Many farmers are
looking for new buyers as plants shut
them off due to the large volumes of
milk. Cream demand is sluggish
because ice cream sales have not taken
oil yet.
In the West, milk supplies are heavy.
Class I sales are stead to a little lower.
Manufacturing plants are at capacity,
and milk is moving out of California
looking lor a manufacturing home. The
California Food and Agriculture
Department changed their pricing for-
mulas slightly which resulted in slightly
higher prices. New crop hay is coming
on in the West. Hay quality is slightly
lower, hut supplies are good and prices
arc low.
