of Dublin, died Sunday, Nov. 9.
2003 in Golden Age Manor
Nursing Home in Dublin.
Bom Jan. 13, 1915 in Noodle
Dome in Jones County, TX., her
parents were William Newton
Williams and Lela Ann Tubbs.
She married Isaac Vemell
Templeton on June 19. 1938 in
Colorado City. TX. They had
five children.
He preceded her in death in
1984. She was a member of
Patrick Street Church of Christ.
She attended McMurry and
Abilene Christian Colleges,
majoring in English, was a certi-
fied medi-aide and worked as an
accountant, supervised the tele-
phone company and dairy farm
and was a seamstress as well as
a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons,
Forrest Don Templeton of
Dublin, Joe Wayne Templeton
of College Station and Jerry
Dale Templeton of Rockwall; by
two daughters, Rita Ann Briley
of Wylie and Jane Ellen Morgan
of San Antonio; five sisters,
Anna Opal, Evalena, Jimmie,
Billie and Wanda..
A memorial service will be
held at Patrick Street Church of
Christ annex at 2 p.m. Saturday,
Nov. 15 with burial in Bunyan
Cemetery.
Harrell Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
Elks strike again
The Elks have struck again!
The proposed lodge of the
Cowboy Capital Elks has been
selling more blinking lights.
A portion of these sales has
gone to several organizations.
Some of the recipients are
Dublin EMS, Project
Graduation and Classroom
Teacher's Association at Dublin
Elementary. We are proud to
contribute.

WYRICK
Clayton Edward Wyrick, 82,
of Waco, died St^tday, Nov. 9,
2003 at Providence Hospital in
Waco.
He was bom July 18, 1921 in
De Moines Iowa to Jesse Wyrick
and Dora Morrisey.
He married Boncile Wyrick
Sept. 12, 1942 in Yuma Az. She
preceded him in death March
17. 2003.
He was a member of
Highland Ave. Congregational
Methodist Church in Dublin and
served in the Army Air Corp in
World War II. He was a retired
leather designer.
Survivors include two sons,
Don Wyrick of McGregor and
Jim Wyrick of Sulphur Springs:
two brothers, Howard Wyrick of
Keokuk, Iowa, and Albert
Wyrick of Mont Rose, Iowa., by
four grandchildren and two
great grandsons.
Graveside services will be
Friday. Nov. 14, 2003 at 2 p.m.
at Erath Gardens of Memory
under the direction of Harrell
Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald
Freeman will be the officiating
minister.

aid information night
Attention parents of High School students Dublin High School is
hosting a Financial Aid information night on Monday November
17th at 7:00. Guest speaker for the evening will be:
Mrs. Don Hilton, Assistant Vice President of the Panhandle-
Plains Student Loan Center Information will be presented on the
following topics:
Steps to completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA)
Grants
Scholarships
Student loans
This session will last approximately.one hour and is open to all
Dublin High School students and their parents. Panhandle-Plains
will donate a $100.00 scholarship for a drawing at the conclusion of
the presentation. Please take advantage of the opportunity to hear
this financial aid expert and ask questions.

S’ville public library
hosts genealogy
As part of the 100th
Anniversary celebration of
Stephenville's Public Library the
second of a series of workshops
on Genealogy research, will be
on November 15th from 10 a.m.
to noon. The class, "Using the
Internet." will be conducted at
the Huckabay Schools
Computer Laboratory. This is an
attempt to provide each attendee
with an individual computer to
use.

garage sale
The Dublin Intermediate
School Parent Teacher
Organization will be having a
garage sale Nov. 14-15 at the old
First Christian Church (now
First Baptist Church annex). It's
located at North Grafton and
Live Oak.
Parents and community mem-
bers are being asked to donate
items towards the garage sale
that might bring in some money
including furniture, clothes,
paintings or other such items.
Money raised will help pay
for playground equipment. All
items should be brought to that
location Wednesday or
Thursday.

Christmas Tour of Homes in
Crawford, Texas. It will be held

Dublin school board will
meet in regular session at 7 p.m.
Tuesday and on that agenda is
consideration of board policy
changes for a number of areas.
The board will also reorga-
nize and elect a vice president.
Board member Don Keith has
requested that the school con-
sider purchasing defibrillator's
and there will be a public hear-
ing on Academic Excellence
Indicator System (AEI”S) report
for 2002-2003 school year.
There will also be a public
hearing on 2003 School FIRST
(Financial Integrity Rating
System of Texas) report.
The board will consider nom-
inations to the Erath County
Appraisal Review Board for the
years 2004-2005 and consider a
joint appointment by the school
and city of a director for that
board.
Also on the agenda is the for-
mative appraisal of the superin-
tendent regarding development
of job performance goals.
Among the local policies to
be examined are student rights
and responsibilities, compensa-
tion and wages, planning and
decision-making process, elec-
tronic communication and data
management, homeless stu-
dents, school safety transfers,
health requirements and
expense reimbursement and
required plans and reports.
GOOD SHOPPING - Lord's Acre was celebrated Friday and
Saturday at United Methodist Church of Dublin. Friday a baked
potato and salad lunch was served. Saturday a fish fry, silent
auction and gift shop were available.

charges on two Middle School
boys for aggravated assault after
they sicced a pit bull on a
teacher.
That occurred Oct. 22 with
charges being filed Nov. 3

The boys knew the dog and
were able to call to him. Then,
they took him to the high school
where they sent him after the
female teacher. She managed to
escape unharmed although
shook up.
The future of the dog is
uncertain. He is in the custody
of his owner. The boys are fac-
ing a felony charge. The assault
took place on school property.
Police arrested - Ambrosia
Rodriguez, 31, on Nov. 7 about
1:30 a.m. for family violence at
617 E. Myrtle.
Other police action involved
suspicious noises and people
and reports of loud music.
On Nov. 10, burglary of a
motor vehicle was reported at
Chigger Ranch. A toolbox was
stolen out of the pickup's bed
about 12:30 p.m.
A burglar alarm is being
installed at city hall. In recent
weeks, people alleged to be safe
crackers have been breaking
into city halls including
Stephenville.

felony to drive while intoxicated
with a passenger younger than

HB 1784 makes it an offense
for a person to park their vehicle
where it blocks a disabled
access aisle that is designed to
aid persons with disabilities.
