thing about Bradley Cole, who
plays Prince Richard Winslow
on Guiding Light?

Bradley Cole joined Guiding Light in 1999
and won a Soap Opera Digest award for Best
New Character the next year. Bom in
Southern California, he graduated from
Pepperdine University, where a baseball
injury turned him to acting. After gradu-
ation, Cole traveled to Europe, where he
launched his acting career. He’s appeared
in the international soap opera Riviera, as
well as films Sueet Revenge, Touch and Die, and y Days in June. Cole also
played guitar in an amateur rock group, which
released an album titled Tonite. The album fea-
tures songs inspired by the music of the ’60s.
Cole lives in New York City and spends his free
time playing guitar and riding horses.
Q We love the Aliy McBeal televi-
sion show, but we don’t know much
about its star, Calista Flockhart.
What kind of acting did she do
before Ally McBeal?

Bradley Cole Is a prince.
Calista Flockhart, whose name means most
beautiful in Greek (it was also her grandmoth-
er's name), was bom in Freeport, 111., and attend-
ed Rutgers University. Although she made her
television debut in 1991 on Darrow, it was on
Broadway that she really established her repuca-
tion as an actress. Flockhart had been on Broad- Cafcta Hoddnrt got tar start on Broads
way for about eight years when she was given the opportunity to audi-
tion for Ally McBeal. At first, she turned the offer down because she
was too busy with theater and was hesitant to work in television.
However, the producers eventually convinced her to fly to Los Ange-
les, where she immediately was hired. The single 36-year-old acts in
plays, such as the 1999 off-Broadway production called Bash, when
she’s not taping the show in Los Angeles.
Q I haven’t seen Loretta
Lynn lately. Does she still tour?

Loretta Lynn, 65, was treated for pneu-
monia earlier this spring after working
almost nonstop for the last two years. In
September, she released a new CD titled
Still Country and was promoting it before
she got sick. Lynn also made an appear-
ance at the Grand Ole Opry’s 75 th
anniversary last fall. She performs about Loretta Lynn
70 shows annually and had a concert special on A&E in March. Lynn
is writing her second book, the Mow-up to her hugely successful Coal
Miner's Daughter, which became a movie. She opened a museum at her
ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., on May 26.
What has gold medalist Lenny Krayzelburg
been doing since the Olympics?

Lenny Krayzelburg, 25, has had a busy schedule since the Olympics,
where he won three gold medals in swimming. He dedicated two
of the medals to his parents, Oleg and Yelena. He was a judge at
rhe Miss America pageant and is a popular
television guest, appearing on the celebrity
edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, the
Late Show With David Lettemian, and Holly-
wood Squares. On Who Wants to be a Million-
aire?, Krayzelburg won $32,000, half of
which he donated to a cystic fibrosis charity.
In his downtime, Krayzelburg enjoys read-
ing history books, working with computers,
and listening to classical music. He is a big
fan of both the Los Angeles Lakers and the
Los Angeles Dodgers. Bom in Russia in
Odessa, Ukraine, Krayzelburg moved to the
United Stares in 1989 and became a citizen
in 1995. He is enjoying an extended break
from competitive swimming and will com-
pete in only a few meets this summer. He
lives in Los Angeles. ^
