ECAD amends budget
Reacting to concerns of
local taxing entities, the Erath
County Tax Appraisal District
voted to amend their 2011
budget to cut out $75,000 for
two proposed new appraisers
although they are
recommended by the state
for a tri-annual review of
properties.
The board did vote to
approve a 3.5% pay increase
for employees.
Money to buy a new pickup
totaling $ 15,000 will be taken
out of reserve funds.
Also eliminated from the
budget was money for a new
telephone system that would
have been required for the
two new employees.
The budget will not require
any increase in funding from
local taxing agencies.
A meeting to give final
approval to the budget will be
held next month.
The budget passed by a
vote of 3-2 with Board
Members Les Gandy and Bill
Bailey voting no and Dannah
Procter, Jeff Weaver and
Jennifer Carey.
