Muschalek - Reyes wed
at Texana Church
Mr. and Mrs. LeAnthony Reyes
nee Stephanie Muschalek
Stephanie Muschalek and
LeAnthony Reyes, both of
Edna, exchanged double ring
vows on March 11, 2011 at
the Historic Texana Church at
Brackenridge Park with the
Rev. Cory Brand officiating.
The bride is the daughter of
Ronnie and Cynthia
Muschalek of Edna and the
granddaughter of Paul and
Mildred Muschalek of Edna
and the late Sturgis and Betty
Cunningham.
The groom is the son of
Rene and Lucy Reyes of Edna
and the grandson of Tony
Reyes and Joe and Frances
Gonzales, all of Edna, and the
late Juanita Garza.
The church altar was deco-
rated with pedestals holding
Boston ferns and wrought iron
candelabras. White pew bows
adorned the church pews.
Brianna Valenzuela, cousin
of the bride, provided the
wedding music.
Melinda Manzanalez,
friend of the bride, served as
maid of honor. She wore a
yellow eyelet summer dress.
Flower girl was Macey
Barrios, daughter of the maid
of honor. She wore a white
ankle length dress with white
slippers.
Best man was Abel
Rodriguez, friend of the
groom.
Ringbearer was Rey
Anthony Reyes, son of the
bride and groom. He wore a
black suit, yellow bow tie and
was pulled down the aisle by
the flower girl in a red Radio
Flyer wagon.
The bride’s brother,
Brandon Muschalek, per-
formed the ushering duties.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was lovely in
a soft white strapless organza
gown with ribbon edged front.
The back of the gown was
swept up with a big bow at the
waist and featured a small
train that was bustled up after
the ceremony.
On her hair she wore a one
tiered elbow-length veil edged
in ribbon with a pearl and
rhinestone flower headpiece.
She carried a bouquet of off
white gerber daisies, smaller
yellow daisies and greenery,
all handtied with a yellow rib-
bon. Her mother’s rosary was
intertwined in the bouquet.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was held at the
Brackenridge Marina. Guests
snacked on trays of meat and
cheese and vegetables while a
special table held candy for
the children. A meal of fried
fish and shrimp with all the
trimmings was served to the
75 guests in attendance.
The bride’s cake was a cup-
cake tower of confetti and
strawberry cupcakes with
white icing interwoven with
assorted spring flowers and
greenery an topped with a
small single layer round cake
decorated with the couple’s
initials.
The groom’s cake was a
double-layer German choco-
late confection with the Air
Force emblem on top.
The rehearsal dinner was
hosted by the groom’s parents
and held at the Sierra
Restaurant in Victoria.
Following wedding travel
to Houston and San Antonio,
the couple will make their
home in Abilene, where the
groom is stationed in the U.S.
Air Force.
Stephanie is a graduate of
Edna High School. She
attended Victoria College and
is a graduate of the Vogue
Beauty College in Corpus
Christi with a degree in nail
technology. She is employed
at the Edna Cleaners.
LeAnthony is a graduate of
Edna High School and attend-
ed Victoria College. He is cur-
rently enlisted in the United
States Air Force, completing
basic training at Lackland Air
Force Base in San Antonio
and training in Pensacola, Fla.
He is stationed in Abilene.
Club News
Texana Chapter DRT
The Texana Chapter of the
Daughters of the Republic of
Texas met on March 8 with
20 members and seven guests
attending.
Special guests were the
seventh grade essay winner,
Jennifer Sliva of Edna
Christian Academy and her
parents; and the fourth grade
winner, Kanyon Peterson of
Industrial Elementary East,
her parent and teacher,
Danielle Gabrysch,. Each
child read their essays which
will advance to District VII
competition.
The committee report on
the scholarship fund, regis-
trar’s report and cradle report
were all given by Brenda
Novosad and Bobbie Brune
reported from the Indianola
Committee.
Under new business an
eight-member team was
formed for the Eleanor
Brackenridge Club Trivia
Night and it was approved to
purchase new T-shirts for
those attending the May con-
vention.
Hostesses for the pot luck
luncheon were Glenda
O’Banion and Brenda
Novosad.
The next meeting will be at
11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April
12 at the Jackson County
Chamber of Commerce
meeting room.

Plant - Moore set vows
Sheryl Plant and Rex Moore Jr., both of Edna, announce their
engagement and forthcoming marriage. The bride-elect is the
daughter of Danny Plant of Edna and JoNell Rivera of
Rockport. She is a 2008 graduate of Edna High School and is
currently attending The Victoria College for a career in nurs-
ing. The prospective groom is the son of Rex Moore and
Shirley Moore of Mt. Grove Mo. He is a 2007 graduate of
Cisco High School and is employed by Pegasus Operating
Co. as a roustabout. The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m.
on April 9, 2011 at Wood Oak Farms in Ganado.

Announcements more than 90 days after the
ceremony will be charged an extra $25 fee.
Engagement announcements with a photo are $25 and
should be submitted at least one month before the
ceremony or an extra fee of $25 will be charged.
Birth announcements are published free.
A birth announcement with a photo is $15.
The deadline for submissions is 10 am. on Fridays.
