Seniors 2004 last homestand
Timpson stays afloat
Zach Crawford
Despite a fan’s request to
“put the Seniors on the field”
Coach Callahan lead the Bears
to a 33-7 routing of Hemphill.
A win last week against SA
would have seemingly allowed
Timpson their first playoff birth
since 1998, but a fourth quarter
comeback from the Wolf Pack
changed all that for Timpson.
Now the Bears must win against
Alto this Friday to prolong bas-
ketball season and for an expe-
rience of a lifetime.
The Hornets came into town
without their usual winning
record, state ranking and mo-
mentum. Timpson, on the other
hand, was already in town and
were looking to get back into
playoff contention.
After a scoreless first quar-
ter, Patrick Earl tallied up six
of his twenty-four points and T-
town went up, 6-0. Then, on a
most unusual play, Justin
Heisman “Touchdown” Martinez
scored on a 70 yard tumble re-
covery. Here’s what went down:
The Hemphill QB thew an in-
complete pass behind the line of
scrimmage and there the ball lay,
alone; helpless; motionless; still
lying there...UNTIL! The Bear
coaching staff yelled frantically
at Justin, “Pick the ball up and
go score son! ” Timpson lead at
half, 12-0.
Timpson maintained their lead
through the duration of the game
thanks to three more Earl touch-
downs, a successful P.A.T. by
LaDarron and a two point con-
version by LaJustin. Not to men-
tion a big sack by Senior Jason
Richardson.
Hemphill picked up seven points
in the fourth on a 20-yard TD
pass and a successful P.A.T
The Bears travel to Alto this
Friday to end district competi-
tion. SA plays Shelbyville and
Garri son has Hemphill. Alto was
also defeated by SA in a come
from behind victory. Gametime
for the Bears is 7:30 in Alto.
Makes

The Seniors last home game fell
into the WIN column

mained on their sidelines
Mistakes
LaJustin ended his consecutive
receptions for touchdowns
The Bears let go of a shutout
again in the fourth quarter
Penalties were high, but did not
cost the Bears a win
The men in stripes were not in
full force
for a bear first down
LaJustin makes the stop
Best of the best... Bears take their
place. Fight hard, win big.
