Is there big and little sins?
James 2: 10 "For whoso-
ever shall keep the whole law
and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all." This plainly
states that sin is sin, and a lie
is a lie.
Gen. 4: 3-5 "And in process
of time it came to pass that
Cain brought of the fruit of the
ground an offering unto the
Lord. And Abel, he also
brought of the firstlings of his
flock and of the fat thereof.
And the Lord had respect unto
Abel and to his offering, but
unto Cain and his offering he
had not respect. And Cain
was very wroth and his coun-
tenance fell. And the Lord
said unto Cain, Why art thou
wroth? and why is thy coun-
tenance fallen? If thou doest
well, shalt thou not be ac-
cepted? And if thou doest not
well, sin lieth at the door. And
unto thee, shall be his desire,
and thou shalt rule over him."
Eve only ate one piece of
fruit from the Tree of Knowl-
edge of good and evil and
gave of it to Adam. Not a big
deal in man's eye, but: (Gen.2:
15-17) "And the Lord God
took the man, and put him into
the garden of Eden to dress it
and keep it. And the Lord God
commanded the man, saying,
Of every tree of the garden
thou mayest freely eat: but of
the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil, thou shalt not
eat of it: for in the day that thou
eatest thereof thou shalt surely
die."
Gen. 3: 22-24 "And the
Lord said, Because the man
is become as one of us to
know good and evil: and now,
lest he put forth his hand and
take also of the tree of life, and
eat, and live forever. There-
fore, the Lord God sent him
forth from the garden of Eden
to till the ground from whence
he was taken. So he placed at
the east end of the garden of
Eden, Cherubim and a flam-
ing sword which turned every
way, to keep the way of the
tree of life." From this we
learn that God does not think
"big" or "little" sin. Heb. 13:6
"Jesus the same yesterday,
And today and forever."
Ananias and Sapphira
thought a little lie would not
hurt. But read Acts 5: 1-11.
When the phone rings and you
do not want to be disturbed,
Tenaha First United Meth-
odist Church met Sunday,
April 28th. The choir sang,
“There’s Something About
That Name” for the prelude.
The hymns for the day were
“How Great Thou Art”, “He
Set Me Free”, “Leaning on the
Everlasting Arms”, and “Rock
of Ages, Cleft for Me”. The
Special Music provided by the
choir was “Mansion Over the
Hilltop”. The sermon was
from John 14: 1 -14. The visi-
tors in our congregation today
included Leland & Peggy
Menefee. We also had Rev.
Aida L. Beltran-Gaentan.
She was on her way to meet-
ings in Marshall, Texas and
stopped to worship with us.

would it not be better to ask
someone to say you will get
back to them, than to tell them
you are not there? Don't ask
someone to lie for you. That
only makes both of you guilty
of lying. A lie is a lie and God
sees it as just that. And make
you guilty of the whole law. A
liar is a person who bridleth
not his tongue.
James 1: 26 "If any among
you seem to be religious, and
bridleth not his own tongue, but
deceiveth his own heart, this
man's religion is vain."
II Tim. 2: 15, 16 "Study to
shew thyself approved unto
God, a workmen that needeth
not be ashamed, rightly divid-
ing the word of truth. But shun
profane and vain babblings,
for they will increase unto
more ungodliness."
Used eye glasses
In support of the local Lions
Club, the Tenaha City Hall will be
accepting used eye glasses for
an ongoing project of the club.
The chairman of their committee
sends them on to a receiving
point and they are repaired if nec-
essary. They are eventually pro-
vided to those individuals in
need.
We hope you will participate.

A day of glory! Today our
Lord and Savior, having com-
pleted your sacrifice and hav-
ing won the victory, you as-
cended in glory to your Father
and your throne in heaven to
reign forever. On this glorious
day the church celebrates
May 9, the ascension of our
Lord.
A day of hope and prom-
ise! Before your final depar-
ture, you led your apostles to
Mount Olivet, that mount looks
down on the place where you
had suffered and died. Rais-
ing your hands, which still bore
the imprints of the “nails’ you
gave them your blessings.
Taking on a human nature,
you suffered and died to re-
deem all humankind. Now on
that holy mountain you
brought unto glory that some
human nature that was
Freeman’s mom. She’s hav-
ing heart problems. Special
song was “/ Found A Lily
In My Valley ” by Joe and
Gloria Fiedler.

humbled unto death. You die
not lay your flesh aside, but
rose bodily into heaven. Your
glorified human nature is not
the pattern of the future glory
of every person who became
united to you through a saving
of your life.
A great day of fulfillment!
Jesus, you are now seated at
your Father’s right hand. There
you represent humanity before
your Father’s throne. With a
nature common to us you plead
in heaven to the Father on our
behalf. At some time, the Spirit
you have sent to us commemo-
rates your life to us, giving us
a feeling of glory you share in
heaven.
Now, risen Lord, by your
outpouring of the Holy Spirit,
and by our faith in you our
Lord, we are able to live as
your holy people here on earth.

At least she was at church
