THURSDAY ALREADY
... IN TENAHA ^ Tom Reader
Great time at First Baptist
in Tenaha Monday night. Af-
ter a dinner consisting of squir-
rel mulligan or vegetable soup
the annual forty-two tourna-
ment took place. I was lucky
to have Chip Roberson as my
partner and we played J.
Lloyd Woods and Mrs.
Doyce. At the end of the
evening, the score was tied
two games each. A super time
at church. Where else would
you want to be?
The Tenaha Fire Depart-
ment met Tuesday evening. It
was the first training meet-
ing of the year. Afterwards
the firemen retired to the fire
bays to perform routine main-
tenance.
Good crowd present at
First Baptist Church
Wednesday evening. Brother.
Eb Figley conducted the
prayer service and Brother
Bill Griffin conducted the
Bible study. Afterwards the
choir met and began to pre-
pare for the Easter Special.
Happy Birthday to Kayle
Durr, J.T. Harrington, Janie
Holmes, Robbie Bums, Stacie
Ogden, Colette Cross, Dianne
Cross, Michelle Haltom,
Shelby Thompson, and Larry
Smith.
What a horrible Saturday
morning in East Texas and the
world. It’s hard to not ask God
why such things occur. He has
a reason and a purpose. Hope-
fully one day, we will under-
stand. May God Bless each
of the families involved and
ease their pain.

“Dock” Watson as each one
took the microphone in her
honor. Each congratulated
her on her retirement and
praised her for competence
and professionalism which
complemented her efficiency
in seeing to the county’s fi-
nancial status.
She was presented a spe-
cial plaque denoting her years
of service by Judge Watson
who also held a “roast” in her
honor whereby others were
invited to speak. Several
spoke of her work and
wished her well in retirement.
Tracey Strong was sworn
in as Smith’s replacement
and is assisted in the transi-
tion by her.
Joism
Do we look at oth-
ers , take them at face
value? Do we try for
Three-Dimensional-
straight through? What
about closing our
eyes, and seeing only
their negative image?
