at. Denton Tuesday night.

In a double ceremony perforate t
last Friday night at the First Pres-
byterian Church in Whitesboro by C.
W. Estes, pastor, Miss Mildred Helms
of Celina, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Fleet Francis of Gunter, became the
bride of Charles M. Estes of Celina,
son of the Rev. Mr. Estes, and Miss
Adaline Morriss of Bonham became
the bride of W. T. Merrell of Honey
Grove.
Miss Joetta Morriss of Bonham
gave the wedding music. The church
was decorated with white gladioli
and blue iris.
After the ceremony a reception was
held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.
W. Estes, in Whitesboro. The house
was decorated with blue and white
spring flowers. Miss Oleta Wallace
and Annie V. Stalleup of Celina pre-
sided at the bride’s book. Mrs. Herb
ert Parish of Celina and Mrs. Bill
Phillips of Gunter were in charge of
the tiered wedding cake. Mrs. J. J.
Umphress of Celina and Mrs. John D.
Estes of Sherman poured coffee.
The bride wore an aqua crepe frock,
white hat and shoes, and white gar-
denias.
Mrs. Estes, teacher in Celina high
school for the past four years, wiJ1
graduate from Denton teachers col
lege in August.
Mr. Estes, principal and coach of
the local school. is a graduate of the
Denton teachers college.
Attending the wedding from Celina
were* VoJney Phillips, Miss Oleta
Wallace, Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Stall-
cup, Miss Annie V. Stalleup, Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Parish and Mr. and
Mrs. J. J. Umphress.
In addition to the close friends and
relatives of Miss Morriss and Mr.
Merrell. guests attended from Bop
ham, Ladonia, Sherman, Gainesville
and Denton.
The bride and groom will live at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
Parish until school closes.

Bud Michael of Sanger was the
guest of his brother, Walter Michael,
and wife in Celina Tuesday and were
accompanied by Mr. Michael’s broth-
er, Dennie Michael, and wife of San
Bernardino, Calif. Guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Michael at the time were
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Michael of McKin-
ney and were accompanied home by
Mr. and Mrs. Dennie Michael Tues-
day evening. The latter couple came
to Texas with their son Lester and
will be here for several days visit
ing relatives and friends.
County Commissioner Joe Bunch is
the kind of person one can depend on
when there is a job to be done on th»
road. Last Saturday he drove hi-*
big road scraper to the mud hole on
the Cottage Hill pike just north of
John Da mall’s farm and surely di-1
improve that very bad place. It was
raining as usual and he was alone.
W hat other commissioner would do
the work he did?
Mr. and Mrs. George Darnall, ac-
companied by the latter’s sister, Mrs.
Dovie Campbell, of Oklahoma, at-
tended decoration services at Little
Elm cemetery last Sunday. They at-
tended the funeral of Mrs. Darnall's
and Mrs. Campbell’s aunt, Mrs. An-
nie Pinson, at Denton on Monday and
visited Mrs. Eugene Holmes and Mrs.
George P. Brown in McKinney Tues-
day afternoon.
The Cottage Hill decoration service
last Sunday was attended by a large
number of people, but not so many as
usual. Among those present from a
distance were Mr. and Mrs. C. J.
Byrd, son Foy and daughter Eliza-
beth of Alvord and Rhome, Mr. and
Mrs. Mortie Christian and Mrs. Paul
Parker of Conroe and Mrs. Ed Chip-
man and children of San Angelo.

Rites Monday Night
Byrd O’Dell of this community and
Miss Ann Telford of Lewisville were
married in C«?Iina Monday night, Ap-
ril 28. The officiating minister was
the Rev. L. T. Grumbles of this city,
who performed the ceremony at his
home.
