LET’S LAUGH: SIGNS
“I’m stupid” Signs people
should have to wear that just
say,” I’m stupid”. That way
you wouldn’t rely on them
.You wouldn’t”to ask them
anything. It would be like,
Excuse me...oops, never
mind. I didn’t see your sign.
It’s like when the new
people moved. The house was
full of boxes and there was a
UP-Haul truck in the drive-
way A neighbor comes over
and says Hey, you moving in?
Nope, we just pack our stuff
up once or twice a week to
see how many boxes it takes
.Here’s your sign.
When a couple men that
lad been fishing pulled the
3oat into the dock and lifted
up this big “ol stringer of bass
and this idiot on the dock goes,
Hey, y’all catch all them
fish? Nope,...talked ‘em into
giving up.
Here’s your sign.
I was watching one of
those animal shows on the
Discovery Channel, There
was a guy inventing a shark
bite suit. And there is only one
way to test it. Alright Jimmy,
you got that shark on, it looks
good... They want youto j ump
into this pool of sharks, and
you tell us if it hurts when they
bite you. Well, alright, but hold
my sign, I don’t wanna lose it.
Last time I had a flat tire,
I pulled my truck into one of
those side-of-the-road gas sta-
tion. The attendant walks out.
looks at my truck, looks at me,
and I SWEAR he said, Tire
go flat? I couldn’t resist,
Nope, I was driving around
and those other three just
swelled right up on me.
Here’s your sign.
We were trying to sell our
car one time and a guy came
over to the house and drove
the car around for about 45
minutes. We get back to the
house, he gets out of the car,
reaches down and grabs the
exhaust pipe, then
says...Darn that’s hot!! See?
If he’d been wearing his sign,
I could have stopped him.
A lawyer was getting out
of his BMW when a car came
speeding along and ripped the
door off the car. When the
police arrived the man was
jumping up and down and
screaming about his car door
being damaged. The officer
gets out and says,’’You law-
yers are so materialistic, you
are so mad about the car be-
ing damaged that you didn’t
even notice that your arm has
been ripped off too”The law-
yer looks down at his arm and
says “Oh my God! Where’s
my Rolex?
A person who speaks two
languages is bilingual...A per-
son who speaks three lan-
guages is trilingual.. .A person
who speaks four or more lan-
guages, is multilingual. What
is a person who speaks one
language?...An American!!!

Silas News
By Nancy Stephens
Hey folks, this is two weeks
worth of news !! I forgot to
hit the send button on my
comuter.
Once again, the rain has
been plentiful !! We have had
rain for several days and the
forecast does not show a lot
of change for the next few
days. Hopefully it will change.
My daughter Emily lives on
about the worst road in the
county. Trucks travel this road
many times a day and it has
caused so much damage to the
surface that it will take forever
to repair if it ever gets done.
The road to Linda and Javier
Garcia’s is almost impassible.
Linda is on dialysis and its even
hard for the ambulance service
to come get her. If some cul-
verts were put in, sure would
be nice.I was unable to attend
church services Sunday as I
went with daughter Emily and
family to help her sister in law
move in Shreveport. She only
had one more day to get it done
so Emily Bill and the boys and
myself went and gave her a
helping hand. Linda Morgan
said that services were down
some due to sickness. Business
meeting was held on Sunday
night. For those of you who
have not seen the foyer at Mt
Olive, you should see what a
great job Joyce Hughes along
with Bro Cliff did. It is really
nice and made the church en-
trance so attractive. Thank you
both for a job well done.
Belated Happy Birthday to
Gene Muckelroy on Feb. 3rd. I
stayed with Oneita on Monday
as Gene had a doctor appoint-
ment in Shreveport. Enjoyed
looking at her old picture al-
bums. There were lots of folks
I remember as a child. Even
saw a picture of the Hudman
twins and brother Mark on Val-
entines Day in the newspaper
when they were small. Saw lots
of write ups and articles as
well. Even pictures taken at Mt
Olive years ago and also lots
of old timers from the Silas/
Stockman areas. Oneita did a
good job compiling these scrap-
books and has names and dates
on most of it. Something we
should all do ! Saturday after-
noon proved to be a great day
for Granger Hughes as he cel-
ebrated his third birthday with
a host of friends and family in
Longview at the Kids Play Sta-
tion. Those from Timpson who
attended besides his family
were his grandparents Sue
Schulz, Leonard and Rena Sue
Hughes, Joe Powdrill, Justin
and Rebecca Oliver, and Mor-
gan Hudson, Terri Alford and
Amanda and Kellie and Blake
Walker, Nancy Stephens,
Hayden Groce, Brandi and
Piper Hudman, Andy, Jody,
Allysha Jamie and Xander
Stephens, along with lots of
family from the Henderson and
Longview area. He got lots of
presents and had a great
time. This week end we will be
attending a birthday party for
Morgan Hudson as she will be
10 years old. She chose the
skating rink for her birthday
and plans on having a great
time with her friends and fam-
ily. The next week end will be
grandson Haydens 5th birthday
and he is having a “The
Incredibles” birthday at First
Baptist next week end.
Gerald Stamps has been under-
going some tests, surgeries and
treatments in the past month
and we need to remember him
in our prayers. He and wife
Avis were really active for
many many years at Mt Olive
and we miss them when they
cannot attend.
For those of you who remem-
ber Harold Stephens my
brother in law, please remem-
ber him at this time. He is hav-
ing some serious problems and
is undergoing tests and has
been in the hospital this past
week. Please remember him
and wife Beth. I would really
appreciate it. My sister in law
Betty Jo Baltimore is also in the
hospital in Houston and really
been sick.
Justin and Rebecca Oliver
have been busy working on
their land and trees this past
month. Can’t wait till they start
on their new home and get
things going !!.
Jean Rhodes and Dorothy
Bailey have been visiting regu-
larly with their sister Frances

Hoover who is in the hospital
in Nacogdoches. Please re-
member her in prayer at this
time.Happy Birthday this week
to my friend Patricia Gatliff
from Garrison. She and I went
out to dinner on Monday night
in celebration of her big day.
For a few months she is older
than me ! Remember your
loved one on Valentines Day !!
Have a good one. Well folks,
guess I did not send my mail
this past week. Sorry. I guess
I just did not hit the send but-
ton !! Did not attend services
at Mt Olive this Sunday as I
was sick again with this cold.
Mama was taken to the hospi-
tal in Nacogdoches and is still
in there today, (Tuesday). Lots
of folks were out of church
sick and attendance was down
some.Lots of gift exchanges
went on during Valentines Day
and the parties at the school
were good. Saw lots of happy
little kids as they all exchanged
valentines and candy and cook-
ies. Brandi was there with Pip-
ers class and Emily and I were
there with Hayden. Susan Miller
is with Dusti and Jaeli in Ar-
kansas as Dusti is sick with the
flu. So hope you get well soon
Dusti. Its really some bad stuff.
Morgan Hudson had a fine
birthday party in Nacogdoches
at the skating rink with lots of
friends and family. I enjoyed at-
tending. Justin and Rebecca
Oliver provided the snacks and
skating and all had a great time.
Lots of Mt Olive folks were
there to help her celebrate too.
She is now 10 years old! Please
remember Franees Hoover this
week as she has been really
sick and in need of our prayers.
All the news for this week as I
had so much from the last. Will
try and get things going right
again next week. Until then,
God Bless.

It pumps 2,000 gallons daily. And beats more than 100,000 times daily. What a
machine. This marvel of engineering and endurance pumps about 5 million gallons
of blood and beats 2.5 billion times in a lifetime of 70 years. It’s the heart. And heart
disease ranks as the number one killer of both men and women in the United States.
Learn how to respond to the warning signs of heart attack... how to decrease your
chances for developing heart disease . . .how to relax and enjoy life. At the Heart
