Congratulations to the
Palacios Prairie Wetland's Board!
Because of the commitment and perseverance of the
Palacios Prairie Wetlands Board, the Palacios commu-
nity can now enjoy the Palacios nature center located on
Highway 35. The recently completedfirst phase of the 26
acre center offers trails, a t-headpier, and a wetland ob-
servation pier. The next phase will include additional
trails, kiosks and benches.
The Trull Foundation donated the property to Palacios
Prairie Wetlands, a 501c3 organization, and the PPW
Board worked diligently to acquire $189,000 of Coastal
Impact Assistance Project (CIAP) funds to develop the
nature center.
To the Palacios Prairie Wetlands Board members: Er-
win Janszen, Joe Kana, Kathy Nichols, Natalie Hansen,
Leslie Hartman, Cathy Wakefield and Bill Gay, the Trull
Foundation Board would like to say congratulations on
a job well done!
