an offense. Inclusion in this report does not imply that the
person is guilty of any crime. The following are offense and
arrest reports submitted by the Palacios Police Dept, to the
Palacios Beacon as of noon Friday.
ARRESTS
No arrests reported in past week.
INCIDENTS
• Burglary: At 2 p.m., Nov. 19, officer
dispatched to investigate reported burglary of
residence in 400 block of 10th St. Report states
a door, door knobs, window, ceiling fan, bug
light and ladder damaged or stolen (report was
unclear). Loss estimated at $380.
• Criminal Mischief/Harassment: On Nov.
18, male subject on Seashell Blvd. reported
telephone harassment and that the left front tire
of 1999 automobile had been damaged. Loss
estimated at $100.
•Accident: At 3:26 p.m., Nov. 17, an accident,
apparently involving a vehicle and a small air-
craft, reported near Hwy 35 and Trull Blvd. No
other information on inaccurate report.
• Grass Fire: Officers dispatched to uncon-
trolled grass fire 1600 block of Collins Drive at
2:04 p.m., Nov. 17. Cause of fire unknown.
•Animal Complaint: Subject came to Police
Station at 11:34 a.m., Nov. 16, in reference to

CofC accepting nominations for
Man, Woman, Business of the Year
Nominations for the Palacios
community’s three most pres-
tigious annual awards— the
Man, Woman and Business of
the Year— are now being ac-
cepted at the Palacios Chamber
of Commerce, with Dec. 31st
the deadline for submitting
nominations.
Presentation of the awards
will be a highlight at the
Chamber’s annual member-
ship and awards banquet. The
banquet, noting the start of
the Chamber’s 103rd year of
service to the community is
scheduled for Jan. 24, 2013.
Official nomination forms

office, 420 Main St. and is
also available on Page 2 of this
week’s Palacios Beacon.
The Man & Woman of the
Year honors have been an an-
nual presentation since 1977
when Garland T. Brooking
and Florence M. Trull were
the inaugural honorees.
Joe Kana was last year’s
Man of the Year, while Kelly
Rynchek, DDS won Woman
of the Year laurels.
The Business of the Year
award has been ongoing since
1983 when Leonard and Joan
Lamar’s Pier Drive-In was
saluted. The honor last year
went to the Jan Pierce and Old
Main Bookstore.
