Sunbeamers to gather
The Southern Pacific Sunbeam Club is a group
of railroaders who gather on the first Tuesday of
each month for food, fun, fellowship and sharing
memories. They will enjoy this time of sharing at
11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at IHOP in Ennis and
begin planning for the upcoming reunion in April.

RVOS Lodge No. 51 sets meet
RVOS Lodge No. 51 will host its next meeting at
2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2 at the SPJST No. 25 Hall on E.
SH 34 in Ennis.
Retirees to gather
The Ennis Retired School Personnel Association
wdll met in the EISD Boardroom at 2 p.m. Thurs-
day, Feb. 6. Brian Fry will present a program on
EISD’s AVID program, and new Superintendent
John Chapman will attend and present an
overview of his plans for the district. District 10
TRTA President Jo Long will bring the latest news
from TRTA and answer questions concerning
plans to protect retirees’ medical insurance at the
upcoming state convention in Dallas. For more in-

BBO Bash coming Feb. 7
Travis Elementary School’s annual BBQ Bash is
set from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 7.
The annual PTO fundraising event costs $7 at
the door. A special feature available that day is
lunch delivery at workplaces. Lunches delivered
are also $7. Meals include a barbecue sandwich,
chips, pickles and a cookie. Money for meal deliv-
ery must be paid by noon Feb. 4.

Students gather donations to fight leukemia
The Dorie Miller Intermediate Student Council has raised more than $1,180 so far for
their inaugural Pennies For Pasta charity campaign. Students bring money to their
homerooms each day with the class raising the most winning a pasta party from Olive
Garden. Money raised will be donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which
has since 1994 collected $53 million in donations through Pennies for Pasta campaigns.

Ennis Bible Church team gathers
funds through scarf sales
Shana Skeans is selling handcrafted crocheted
scarves and hats made to order to raise funds for
Ennis Bible Church for the Relay For Life of
Ennis. Scarves are available in four sizes: XL adult
is 115 inches long, adult is 74 inches long, child is
52 inches and infant is 25 inches. Costs are $5 for
child and infant, $10 for adult and $15 for XL adult.
Matching hats are $1, and the infant scarf comes
with a matching hat free. All proceeds go to the
American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Call 972-

Team YW and Co. sets up raffle
Team YW and Co. is raffling off an iPad Mini,
Vera Bradley Set and Texas Rangers tickets — four
