Wednesday in Tapp Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Morris Hill
officiating. Burial was in City
Cemetery.
Mrs. Morgan died Tuesday in
Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1901, in
Hopkins County, the daughter of
Silas and Vera Oliver Payne.
She was a member of the First
Baptist Church.
She married Willard Morgan in
1916 in Hopkins County. He preceded
her in death.
She is survived by a son, Dermont
Morgan of Sulphur Springs; a
brother, Sam Payne of Fort Worth;
three grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
Clyde Thompson

Thompson, 77, of Rockdale Road
were held Wednesday at the Como
Cemetery with the Rev. J O. Walker

Mr. Thompson died Sunday in
Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1908, in
Pittsburg to Henry Thompson and
Elizabeth Chapman Thompson.
He was a retired farmer and
railroad worker.
Mr Thompson was a member of
the Baptist Church.
He married Oleta Garvin on Oct.
4, 1937, in Rockwall. She survives of
Sulphur Springs.
Also surviving are four sons, Jerry
Clyde Thompson of Royse City,
Bennie Thompson of Canada, Doug
Thompson of Houston and Jimmy
Thompson of Houston; two

A. Green, who preceded her in death
in 1961.

Sanford L. Green of Arlington and
Ronald W. Green of New Mexico;
five grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.

Mr. Ashmore died Sunday in
Citizens General Hospital in
Greenville. He was 75.
He was born May 12, 1911, in Blue
Wldge, the son of James Marvin and
Belle Ashmore. He married Mary
Jane Blagg Sept 28, 1928 She Sur-
vives.
Mr. Ashmore was a retired
railroad section foreman and served
in the United States Navy during
World Warll.
Survivors include his wife, Mary
Jane Ashmore of Greenville; a son,
R.E. Ashmore of Brashear; a
daughter, Priscilla Ashmore of
Greenville; a sister, Maydene Welsh
of Oklahoma City; two grand-
children; and one great-grandchild.

(Shorty) Myre, 82, of 212 Marianne
Circle , Sulphur Springs, were held
Monday at the Spence Chapel of the
First Baptist Church with Dr.
Charles A. Redmond Jr. and the
Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Burial was in Restlawn Memorial
Park.
Masons were pallbearers and
conducted a graveside service.
Grandsons were honorary
pallbearers.
Mr. Myre died Thursday in
Memorial Hospital.
He was bom Dec. 22, 1903, in
Munson to Jim Myre and Elizabeth
Modawell Myre.
He married Era Viola Brandon in
1922. She preceded him in death in
1982.
He was a retired mechanic who
had been in the garage business 55
years.
He was a member of the First
Baptist Church, a member of the
Busymen’s Bible Class, a member of
the Masonic Lodge and a former
member of the Lion’s Hub.
He is survived by four daughters,
Lura Madge Scholz, Peggy Ramey
and Betzi Parker all of Sulphur
Springs and Pat Palmer of
Angleton; one son, James R. Myre
of San Antonio; one brother, Becton
Myre of Waco; two sisters, Agnes
Russell and Evelyn Chaikin of
Dallas; 15 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by
one daughter, Mary White.

He retired as a radio operator in
1975 and had worked for .American
Airlines and ARINK. He taught
radio operations during World War
II in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He is also survived by one
daughter, Juanell Cleghom of
Sulphur Springs; two grand-
children; . and four great-

Tyler Medical Center.
