Whitefield. He married Pam
Cavitt on June 15, 1968 in

Retired Texas Ranger, were
held Wednesday, Aug. 28,
2013, at East Memorial

He was bom in Waco on
February 6, 1930 to Clyde
and Vera DeLoach.
He married Delta Ann
DeLoach who preceded him
in death in 1996. He then
married Linda House in
lingleville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife
of Lingleville; three sons,
Scotty Whitefield of
Lingleville, Tracy Wade
Whitefield of Desdemona
and Rowdy Whitefield of
Lingleville; sister, Joyce
Lucas of Stephenville;
brothers,Hurrsell Whitefield
of Huckabay, and Pete
Whitefield of Stephenville;
and six grandchildren.

William Carl “Bill” Yoho, 58,
of Dublin died Thursday,
Aug. 22,2013 at Stephenville
Medical Center.
He was bom on Sept. 25,
1954 in Pinegrove, W.V. to
Carl Lee Yoho and Helen
Lillian (Dawson) Yoho.
He was married on Feb. 28,
1986 in Dublin to Kathy Faye
Secrest who preceded him in
death on Jan. 5,1996.
In life, he worked for the
United Coop Electric Co. and
raised and farmed cows.
He is survived by two sons,
Jimmy Yoho and James Yoho,
both of Dublin; a daughter,
Helen Goodrich of West
Virginia; three brothers,
Junior Yoho and Frank Yoho,
both of West Virginia and
James Yoho of Dublin; seven
sisters, Me Wires and Massie
Bartlett, both of Ohio, Virginia
Bailys, Goldie Brown, Betty
Butler, Violet Braud and Helen
Yoho, all of West Virginia;
three grandchildren and one
great-grandson.

Tuesday, Aug. 27 in
Cottonwood Cemetery,

Bluff Dale Homecoming set
The annual Bluff Dale Homecoming will be held on
Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Bluff Dale tabernacle. Registration
begins at 10 followed by the program at 11. This years
program, Bluff Dale is Booming, will highlight many of the
new merchants and business establishments in the Erath
County community. Jimmy Walker of Granbury will also
perform. A catered meal costing $10 per person will be
available at noon. Everyone is invited to attend the 63rd
year of this annual event.
DeLeon offers free GED, ESL classes
Free GED preparation and English as a Second Language
(ESL) Classes will begin again on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at the
DeLeon ISD Administration Building- 425 Texas Street
(West) Entrance. If you have passed any part of the GED,
you must finish prior to the new test beginning in Jan.
2014 or lose those credits and have to begin again. Classes
will meet Mondays and Tuesdays from 6 p.m.-9 pm Call

Cloverleafs offer dance lessons

Groundwater Conservation
District Board of Director’s
will hold their regular board
meeting on Thursday, Sept.
5 at 2:30 p.m. followed
immediatdy by a meeting to
adopt the next year’s budget
and tax rate.
During the regular
meeting, the directors will
review the final draft of the
proposed 2014 budget,
discuss the tax rate, look at
presenting educational
programs in the future and
consider cancelling elections
for Bosque and Coryell
Counties due to nobody
opposing the incumbent
candidates.
The meeting will be
preceded by a permit
hearing where MTGCD will
discuss approve six
operating well permits.
County to keep
current tax rate
The Dublin Cloverleafs will offer square dance lessons
starting Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rotary' Building on
Blackjack. New visitors are offered two free lessons to
determine whether they would like to join them on a
regular basis.
The lessons are casual dress and everyone is invited to
come make good friends and have fun.
Quilt Guild to meet Sept. 7
The Town N’ Country Quilt Guil will meet Saturday, Sept.
7 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension
Center located at the comer of Hwy. 8 and US Hwy. 281.
The speaker will be Barb Forister, an international award
winning artist from Austin. Her lecture Applying Color and
Design to Cloth will focus on nature and abstract and
include a trunk show.
Non-members are welcome to attend two meetings
before deciding to join
River Christian hosting clothes giveaway
Preparations art* underway for the next First Saturday
Clothes Giveaway at The River Christian Fellowship. The
monthly giveaway will be held Saturday, September 7 at
the facility located at 510 E Hwy 8 in Stephenville from 8
a.m. until noon.
All sizes and styles of clothes are available and will be
given away on a first-come, first-serve basis to anyone free
of charge.

used clothing, please contact Pastor Travis Priddy at 254-

Erath County
Commissioners have
decided to approve a budget
with no tax increase, the tax
rate remaining the same as
last year at 47-cents.
That will results in an
increase in revenue of about
$800,000 due to increased
valuations in the county.
Hearings on the proposed
tax rate will take place at 9
a.m. Sept. 4 and Sept. 11 at
the commissioners’
courtroom in the Erath
County courthouse.
A pay increase for county
employees is being
discussed but exact details
are not yet available.

Homecoming and School
Reunion was held on
Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at
the school gym. Tommy
Carr of Lake Whitney
served as Master of
Ceremonies.
The oldest woman
present was Winnie
(Carter) Rainey (Class of
1938) of DeLeon. The
oldest man present was
Bernard Keith (Class of
1943) of Desdemona.
The Class of 1963
celebrated their 50th class
reunion. This annual event
was well attended by ex-
students and friends. It
will continue for as long
as possible. Noon meal
was catered by Circle M
Bar-B-Que, owned by John
and Carrie Miears of
Olden.
Friends of Desdemona
send sincere sympathy to
the family of Tommy Beaty
of Lake Kiowa.
The Beaty family are
former residents of
Desdemona where Tommy
attended school and
graduated with the Class
of 1951. He passed away
on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013
and would have been 80
years old on Aug. 27.

the family of Keith
McDonald of Ranger. He
was the ag teacher in
Desdemona School for a
few years. Burial was in
the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
“Hello" to our friend,
Willa Dean (Dickson) Butler
in Rising Star. She
attended school in
Desdemona and graduated
with the Class of 1941.
She sent a note saying she
was unable to attend the
Homecoming due to health
problems.

the school busses. “Our
