Sulphur Springs State Bank community room hosted by

The Wednesday Day TOPS chapter met Wednesday, Dec. 18, at thy First
Christian Church for a weigh-in and meeting.
Following the meeting, the 17 members attending went to the hodle of
Nannie Halcomb for a Christmas party.

wiches, a low-calorie cake for dessert, coffee and tea i ■

Oren and Wanda Singleton will be honored with a 50th
wedding anniversary reception at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, in
the Sulphur Bluff community center. The event, will be

, The sanctuary of, the First United
flijethodist Church of Plana was the
setting for the formal wedding
ceremony uniting Miss’Christy Lynn
Ogden and David Chapman Levine at
1 p.m^Saturday, Dec. 28.
The Rev. Ralph Burke, associate
j pastil of the church, officiated at the
double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. H.E. Gundelfinger of Plano.
\ The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jerry L- Levine of Plano, for-
merly of Sulphur Springs* and the
grandson .of Mrs. Florene Chapman
Adams of Sulphur Springs and Mrs.
David Levine of Dallas.
The couple pledged their vows
before the altar which was banked
with wedding ferns, areca palms and
seasonal greenery. Two massive
arrangements of white roses in-
terspersed with baby’s breath and
greenery were on either side of the
altar.
The setting was further enhanced
•f by red and white poinsettjas placed at
vantage points and a beautiful
Chrismon tree to the left of the altar.
Arches and spiral candle trees
holding cathedral tapers created a
soft backdrop for the vows. The pews
were marked vlith Christmas
greenery, holly berries and white
bows. The unity candle atop a brass
candelabra was lighted by the couple
during the ceremony.'
A Given in marriage by her father,
tne bride designed and wore an
original handmade formal-length
gown fashioned of silk peali de soie
. v French Alencon lace over white satin.
The molded, lace bodice featured a
high neckline and full-length sleeves
. which Extended to petal points over
her hands. The back of the gown was
closed from the collar to tMe waist
with tiny pearl buttons.
The full cathedral train extending
from the1 bodice of the gown was
beautifully embellished with lace
appliques and tiny seed pearls. Seed
pearls were also scattered over the
lace trim of the neck and sleeves and •
highlighted the lace appliques on the
skirt of the^own.
The full-length veil of illusion ex-
tended from a half-crown designed of
white satin rosesAnd seed pearls. The
bride also carried out the tradition of
something old, something borrowed
and something blue by wearing a blue
garter made of ^antique lace which
had been worn in the weddings of the
bridegroom’s cousins, Mrs. Janie
Bowe, Mrs. Jeanie Hentchel and Mrs.
Cathy Hubbard. The bride also wore
a sixpence in her a shoe, a gift from
Mrs. Garrv R. Coates.
She also carried a cascade of white,
satin sweetheart roses and
stephanotis caught with streamers of
satin and picot lace.
The bride’s cousin, Miss Martha
Gundelfinger of Plano, attended as
the maid of honor. Bridesmaids tvere
Miss Kathryn Gillem and Mrs.
Mickie Chapman of Sulphur Springs,
both cousins of the bridegroom, and
Miss Tammy Van of Plano.
The brjde’s honor attendant and
bridesmaids wore identical floor-
length gowns of worsted silk in an
emerald green tone. The gowns;
designed with a fitted bodice and
applique design, featured a scalloped
portrait neckline and elbow-length
■puffed sleeves accented with a
tailored bow at the waistline.
They wore hairpieces of white
roses, greenery and baby's breath.
They carried Revere lamps with a
single lighted candle accented with'
Christmas greenery and holly berries
interspersed with white and green
streamers.
MrSj Gundelfinger, the bride's
mother, wore a pure silk aqua tea-
lengfn dress with matching shoes and
a white rose corsage'accented with
satin bows. Mrs. Levine/ the
bridegropm's mother, wore a pure
silk emerald green tea-length dress
with matching shoes. She also wore a
white rose corsage accented with
satin bows.
Lee Levine of Plano, brother of the ,
bridegroom, served as the best man.
Groomsmen were Biff Chapman and
Stephen Gillem //Sulphur Springs,
cousins of the bridegroom, and Tim
Ganit t)f Plano. Ushers were Todd
Nichols of Mesquite, cousin of the
bridegroom, and Derek Herrin of
MRS. DAVIDCHAPMAN LEVINE
Plano.
Candles were lighted by Fred
Hentchel of Peoria, 111., and Bob
Bowe of Dallas, cousins of the
bridegroom. ,.' ' ,

man'of Sulphur Springs*^nd ,Be,th
Bowe of Dallas, cousins of- the
bridegroom. They wore Identical
floor-length crimson gowns accented
with white lace and they carried
white baskets decorated with
greenery and white streamers.

Sam Hentchel of Peoria, 111., cousins
of the bridegroom, served as ring
bearers and carried identical white
satin pillows trimmed'with lace and
tiny satin bo^is made by the
bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs.
Florene Adams of Sulphur Springs.
Music for the ceremony was
presented-by Mrs. Lynette Little,
organist, who placed traditional
selections before the ceremony, and
Mrs. Bob Gideon of Sulphur Springs,
vocalist.
Mrs. Gideon sang, “With These
Hands,” a selection which had been
sung in the wedding ceremonies of
the bridegroom's parents and his
aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry
Don Gillem of Sulphur Springs.
Mrs. Gideon also sang, “The
Wedding Song" and "Whither Thou
Goest" during the ceremony.
For the benediction, the couple
knelt qri^ a priediu covered in white
satin and ornamented in white roses'
and satin ribbon for the nuptial
blessing as Mrs. Gideon sang, “The
Lord’s Prayer.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was hosted bj'.the bride's
parents in the fellowship hall of the
church. r
The registry table which held an
arrangement of red and white roses
in a silver bowFwas attended by Mrs.
Cathy fiubbardof San Angelo, cousin
of the bridegroom.
The bride’s table was coverecf in
white taffeta and^ held an
arrangement of white roses entwined
with greenery in a five-light silver
candelabra with tapering white
candles. The table was draped with
garlands of greenery caught with
ribbon streamers. The three-tiered
Traditional wedding cake was
decorated with fresh flowers and
surrounded with garlands of smilex
and flanked by a silver punch service.
Silver appointments offered mints
and nuts.
The bridegroom’s table, which held
the traditional chocolate cake and
silver coffee service, was also
covered with a white taffeta cloth and
was centered with a five-light silver
candelabra with tapering green
candles. The table held an
arrangment of Christmas greenery
and holly berries.

Collin Greene Condominimums in

matinated charbroiled beef strips, "
tortillas, guacamole salad", Spanish „
rice, rageh beans, enchiladas, salsa,
various cheeses and sherbet was
served with pitchers of margaritas,
. coffee and tea.
The dining room was decorated
with huge, colorful pinatas and
streamers in the Mexican tradition.
The prospective bride and
bridegroom both wore authentic
white velvet Mexican wedding
sombreros during the evening.
Guests were seated at tables for
eight centered with a Mexican pittata
which was given to the Lucky guests
who found a “peso” under his or her
plate. - A*
All of the decorations for , the
evening were compliments of the
bridegroom’s brother,, I,ee Levine,
who brought them back from a recent
trip to Cancun, Mexico.
