Franklin Freel II were united in
marriage Friday, April 4, in the Park
Cities Baptist Church. The Rev.
Creath Davis officated at the
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas E. Jones of Dallas.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs.
Patrick H. Pettway of Dallas and and
Mr.'and Mrs. William W. Jones Jr. of
Sulphur Springs.
Parents of the bridegroom are Mr.
and Mrs. Radford H. Freel of
Houston. He is the grandson of
Jerome F. Freel and'Dr. Elliott H.
Powers of Houston.
The bride was given in marriage by
her father. She wore her mother’s
wedding gown of candlelight silk
taffeta featuring a fitted bodice and
Queen Anne yoke of French Alencon
lace with tiny seed pearls.
The puffed, leg ’o mutton sleeves
with organza and lace insets tapered
to button and loop closures at the
wrist. The full taffeta skirt fell from a
basque waistline to slipper length. A
graceful ruffle with* soft scalloped

Susan Kathryn Jones and Laura
Bess Jones attended as the maids of
honor. They wore ballet-length gowns
of radiant pink taffeta featuring high
puffed sleeves and shirred cumm-
berbunds which flattered the natural
waistline. The bateau neck dropped
to a deep V in the back accented with
a bow.
The groom’s father attended as the
best man. Groomsmen were Bret
Chapman, Dan Freel, Michael Freel,
Rhonda Darlene Crouch and Joe
Will Orren Jr., both of Sulphur
Springs, exchanged wedding vows at
7 p.m. Saturday, March 15, in the
First Baptist Church. The Rev. J.C.
Smithers, pastor of Pickton Baptist
Church, officiated at the double-ring
ceremony. *
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Carrell Crouch of Sulphur
Springs. Parents of the bridegroom
are Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Orren, also
of Sulphur Springs.
Given in marriage by her father,
the btide wore a formal length gown
of white satin with lace trim featuring
a fitted bodice and scooped neckline
accented with satin rosettes. The
elbow length, full puffed sleeves were
accented with white satin bows. The
waistline of the gown was also ac-
cented with satin rosettes while the
train of the skirt extended to chapel
length.
Her chapel length veil of illusion
trimmed with tiny roses fell from a
wreath headpiece.
The bride carried a cascading
bouquet of white roses.
She also carried out the tradition of
something old, a pearl necklace;
something new, her dress; something
borrowed, her great-grandmother’s
gold wedding band; something blue,
her garter; and a penny placed in her
shoe by her father.
The couple exchanged vows at the
altar of the church before a brass
archway holding 18 white tapers and
covered with fern, tiny flowers and
blue and white satin bows. Flanking
the archway on either side were two
brass nine-branch candelabras also
accented with fern and blue and white
satin bows.
A brass unity candle which was
lighted by the mothers of the couple
before the ceremony and the couple
following their vows completed the
setting.
Before the ceremony, the bride
presented her mother with a white
long-stemmed njse. She also
presented an iddffncal rose to her new
mother-in-law following the
ceremony.
Linda Crouch of Sulphur Springs,
sister-in-law of the bride, attended as
the matron of honor. Bridesmaid was

Following a wedding trip to Hawaii,
the couple will live in Dallas.
The bride is a graduate of Highland
Park High School and attended the
University of Texas at Austin. She is
a member of Kappa Alpha Theta

To complete her ensemble, the
bride wore a cap covered with beaded
Alencon lace from which flowed past
her cathedral train her veil of sheer
illusion.

The bridegroom is a graduate of
Highland Park High School. He
received his B.A. degree in
economics from the University of
Texas at Austin. He is a member of
Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
Ceremony Planned
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon C. Lee of Saltillo announce the
- engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Anneva, to Mark Edward Allen of Lake Fork. He is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen of Broken Arrow, Okla. The
bride-elect attends^ East Texas State University and is
- employed with the Eighth Judicial District Court. The
prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Oklahoma State
University and is employed as an engineer with Amerada
Hess Oil Co. The couple plan to be married at 3 pta.
Saturday, May 10, in the First Christian Church, Suiphur
Springs. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
The attendants wore formal length
.gown of royal blue satin and each
carried a long-stemmed white rose
with a royal blue ribbon.

Women
The Sulphur Springs chapter of
Business & Professional Women met
Monday, March 25, at the Woman’s
Building.
Thelma Campbell called the
meeting to order in the absence of
President Christine Street. The in-
vocation was given by Mildred
Cahalan.
A Girl Scout Color Guard consisting
of Tanda and Sandra Arthur, Audrey
Wilham and Marie Smith presented
the colors and led the group in the
pledge of allegiance.
Following the dinner, Ola Beckham
introduced Pat Nash, District Field
Executive of the Red River Valley
Girl Scout Council. Mrs. Nash told the
group of her activities in scouting and
presented a film showing scenes of
summer camp meetings at Camp
Gamble near Paris. Mrs. Beckham
presented a check for $500 on behalf
of the club to .Linda Christian to be
used by the local girl scouts.
Minutes from the previous meeting
' were read. At the request of Mildred
Cahalan, a correction stating,
“presentation of the annual donation
to the girl scouts was discussed, and
it was agreed that the March meeting
would be the appropriate time for the
presentation.
Ruth Long reported on the District
Meeting in Greenville which she
recently attended. Thelma Campbell
asked any members who could to
assist Becke Anderson on April 21
with the Sesquicentennial activities.
She announced that the state
headquarters office has been
relocated in Arlington. She also
announced that a seminar on
parliamentary procedures in
Garland would be held Saturday,
April 26. The meeting was adjourned
with the Mizpah benediction.

brother of the bride, attended as the
best man. Groomsman was Milton
Orren, brother of the bridegroom
Ushers were Charles Johnston and
Mark Ramey, both of Sulphur
Springs.
The candles were lighted by
Richard Crouch and Gary Patrick,
both of Sulphur Springs, as "You
Light Up My Life'-' was played.
During the ceremony, vocalist
I-arry D. Campbell presented, "Flesh
of My Flesh” and "The Wedding
Song" accompanied on the piano by
his wife, I.aJuan Campbell.

and approaching marriage
of their daughter, Sheri
Lea, to Stephen Phillip
Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Springs. The bride-elect
will be graduated in May
from Texas A&M
University. The
prospective bridegroom .is
a 1985 graduate of Texas
A&M. Following their
Saturday, May 17, wedding
at the Northside Church of
Christ in, Lometa, the
couple will reside in
Sulphur Springs.

a white cloth with white lace overlay
and accented with fern and blue satin
bows. Highlighting the table was a
brass centerpiece of white roses, fern
and three white tapers.
A three-tiered white wedding cake
decorated with blue roses and topped
with a blue and white lace heart was
served from the table along with
punch from a silver and crystal
serving set.
The bridegroom’s table was
covered with a white embroidered
cloth and centered with a glass
arrangement holding tiers of royal
blue votive candles and royal blue
silk rdsek A traditional chocolate
cake inscribed with the couple’s
initials, hors d'oeuvres and coffee
were served from the table.
Houseparty members included
Kathy Alexander, Glenna Ramey,
June Johnston, Dee Ann Walker and
Sandy Crouch.
Kristi Alexander presided at the
registry.
Rice bag roses were distributed by
Holly Patrick, Erin Johnston and
Todd Alexander.
Following a wedding trip to Dallas,
the couple are making their home in
Sulphur Springs.
The bride is a 1984 graduate of
North Hopkins High School and at-
tends East Texas State University.
She is employed with Sulphur Springs
State Bank.
The bridegroom is a 1978 graduate
of Sulphur Springs High School and
attended ETSU. He is employed with
the Banks Co.
Rehearsal Dinner
Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Orren honored
their son, Joe, and his fiancee,
Rhonda Crouch, with a rehearsal
dinner Friday night, March 14, at K-
Bob’s following the wedding
rehearsal.
The table was decorated with a
white straw basket filled with various
shades of blue flowers. English ivy
wdth tiny blue flowers and blue
candles in brass holders completed
the table decorations.
Following dinner, chocolate cake
celebrating the birthday of the
bride's brother. Andy, was served.
Parties and Showers
The bridal couple were honored
with several parties and showers
preceding the wedding ceremony.
A .miscellaneoqs shower was held
Saturday, Feb. 8, in the North
Hopkins School homemaking room.
Hostesses included Jou Jane
Drummond, Linda Crouch, Cindy
Patrick, Dee Ann Walker, Judy Petty
and Margaret Eudy.
Decorations were in the bride's
colors of blue and white. Cake, punch,
nuts and mints were served to the
friends and relatives attending. The
