Road Bond Election Called Off
Spcilal to Tilt- Dallas News
Gainesville, Texas, Jan. 28.—
At a called meeting of the Com-
missioners’ Court here the Cooke
County good roads committee
presented a petition to the Court,
asking that the.election be post-
poned indefinitely. The election
had been set for Feb. 7. at which
time it was to be decided whether
or not $700,000 in bonds would
be issued for good roads in this
county. The Commissioners an-
nounced that the election would
not be held.
Quito a number of the farmers j
of the county seem to be opposed
to further taxation, and the bus-
iness men of this city were afraid
that the election would not carry
at this time.
